We really liked this!! It is order at the counter with the feeling they are serving you if that makes sense? It is a cool neighborhood place where locals gather and a few outoftowners. We enjoyed our breakfasts especially Grandma's Griddle, Mr. Wiggles scramble ,Omelet Pops something, the Garlic bagel and serve yourself seconds coffees. Portions are good sized and tasty. The place is small but laid out to fit the maximum. The restroom is upstairs thru part of the kitchen prep area where sausage etc is made. The location is easy to find and park within a couple blocks if no construction nearby. It is definitely worth a stop in and savor. Don't be in a rush.

Good. More like 3.5 stars.

It's a tiny place, but it adds to the atmosphere. Service was a little perfunctory, but not rude. My husband had eggs, hashbrowns and bacon- loved every mouthful, especially the hash browns, which were perfectly seasoned and cooked crisp. I had the ultimate hash browns and the name doesn't lie. They were the best hash browns I'll probably ever eat. Cheesy and topped with avocado and sour cream, they were so rich I could only finish half the large serving. The highlight: The dirty vanilla chai. Heaven.

Found it on yelp. I work about 5 blocks away, but it was worth the walk. Tasty burgers and a cool atmosphere. I enjoyed people watching at a stool along the window. Good prices too. I got a big burger and a ton of friends for about $10. Will be back :)

Delishious French Toast w/ fresh strawberries and bananas. Do it! O
(4)Jennifer E.
The burgers are no joke. These things are huge!!!
(5)Eric B.
Awesome little place, nice staff, great food. I had the French Toast, eggs and bacon.
(5)Laurence S.
One of my favorite breakfast and brunch spots.( What you should order here are the griddle cakes! They are fluffy, not too thick, and delicious). The egg and hash brown breakfasts are too big and I don't care for them. But if you do get it, share it with someone else! It is huge! Also, the OJ is freshly squeezed and coffee is good.
(4)Laura K.
Solid breakfast spot if you live in the area. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but it's my daily stop for a cup of coffee each morning on my way to work. The the breakfast options are good, if lacking a bit it creativity. You'll notice onions and cremini mushrooms in most of their egg dishes, with an additional ingredient thrown in the vary the menu. The coffee is much better than what you can find at Starbucks across the street. Plus, you get to support a local business!
(4)Annie M.
went to this little breakfast spot on a saturday. overall, i thought it was pretty tasty. pros: yummy square donuts, almond milk at the coffee bar, delicious hash browns, sourdough toast cons: coffee needs improvement, 'bits & pieces' scramble tasted like oscar meyer meat.
(4)Eboniña E.
Yummers! They have a good basic hamburger here made with Neiman Angus beef which is soooo darn tasty...I must be honest though and say I get the "Traditional" Burger w/o Griddle Sauce. Personally, I believe if you put a lot of sauces and cheeses on items you cannot really tell if something sucks or not. Also, they made a pretty good pancakes, very filling...I think this is a good place if you are wanting the basics for a decent price:-)
(3)Brendan M.
Awesome juicy burger. One of my favorites in SF. On a donut makes it all the better. Fries were okay. Worth another visit!
(4)Hez B.
This place ROCKS. I appreciate joints that let you order at the bar, seat yourself, get plate service-- all over 80s music, yes please. AND Thank you! The portions are ginormous and delicious. I had the Midweek Energizer Sammich with turkey and spinach... so huge, I gave the other half of the ENTIRE meal to the hungry lady on the corner of Van Ness and Market..... and I am absolutely positive she was quite full after her half. A new go-to....

Lunchie w/ Ms. Marti L and Ms. Karen Y!!! I got here a little early before the three of us were suppose to meet and scoped out the menu to figure out what i was craving. Having only had a protein shake this morning, and survived two classes: I was ready to eat a table full of foood!! Ok maybe not that hungry but a burger and some fries surely satisfied my hunger. The very first thing on the menu that caught my eye was the Lucifer and not to mention a bunch of my yelp friends who recently came to Little Griddle wrote about the Lucifer. Sorry guys and gals, i didn't get the Lucifer, I got the "Evil Knievel". When i am hungry, the first thing i think of is PROTEIN! BEEF, CHICKEN, PORK, FISH. The Evil Knievel definitely satisfied my craving for protein and more with two thick Niman ranch beef patties, 3 different types of cheese (cheddar, muenster, pepperjack) melted to gooeyness, topped with some crispy apple smoked bacon and their special griddle sauce. The burger also contained the usual lettuce, tomatoes, red onions and came with an order of fries ( I opted for swt potato fries) Be warned, it can and will get messy: This burger will fall apart as you keep biting into it. You know a burger is massive when they have to stick a plastic knife into it to hold it together rather than a giant tooth pick. lol The beef was very fresh and well seasoned. For all of you on a diet they also offer Diestal ground turkey for .50cents more. The bun was a kind-of potato like bread that completed the yummy burger perfectly. I will be back to try the Lucifer soon, Little Griddle

I was working across the street and stopped in to Little Griddle for a bite. I ordered their cheeseburger. What a BURGER! Every bite was so fresh and savory - all the veggie toppings tasted just-picked. Their fries were delicious, too, and came served on a cool metal tray. My only complaint is that it was a smidgen pricy, but I enjoyed my meal so much I didn't care. Great little place, great food to match.
(4)Derek G.
Staff was super friendly and I like the fact that the cashier looked like she just finished a night of party bingeing. She Rocks! Ordered the french toast special. The french toast was almost tasteless without the syrup. Of course the bacon, sausage, and eggs were good. Nothing more to say other than my company was really good! MACA!
(3)Vivian W.
Small but good and large portions. It's a small place. Get there before 11 am to beat a wait. Ordered the avocado mushrooms onions omelette - served with hash browns and toast. Next time I'll get it as a scramble, which my friend ordered. Soy latte was good too. Friends ordered the scramble, the little wigley scramble and the French toast.
(4)John B.
Outstanding high end burger and delicious sweet potato fries! Well worth $11! Stopped in for lunch and I found: 1- high quality ingredients, a simple menu to order from. 2- the burger was top quality for $8! Greasy in just the right way. 2.1- the sweet potato fries were worth the few extra bucks. And plentiful! 3- overall a wonderful surprise in an otherwise rough neighborhood. I will return.

Holy guacamole, people! This place is AWESOME! Check out all the food porn that your fellow yelpers have posted above- it is indeed an accurate representation. I came here with my family for brunch. The peeps that work here, all men, seemingly all gay (love you, san fran! :) ), were all super sweet and friendly. They seemed happy to be working at the Little Griddle, and proud of the food. As they should be! Coffee, excellent! Toast, Excellent! Spinach and onion scramble, OMG SO GOOD! My aunt had the burger, and it was the most beautiful burger I have ever seen. I was snitching her fries over the course of the entire meal. Totally getting that next time. And then the pancakes and strawberries the time after that. The syrup wasn't real maple, but given the reasonable nature of the prices, I guess that is to be expected. That was the one down note for me. The place isn't fancy, but lots of windows and the location lend to some truly fabulous people watching while you become happily satiated at the Little Griddle. Highly recommend.

LIttle Griddle is one of my favorite places to get breakfast in San Francisco. If I ever find myself awake early on a Saturday (and in the city) this is always the place I go. It's a small diner that can get cramped when it's busy, but despite that I've never had trouble getting a seat. The food selection is pretty focused on things that can be made on a griddle, but given the name I would be disappointed by anything else. Many menu items are a bit heavy on the grease, but that's par for the course when you're talking about southern style breakfast food. If you ever stop by later in the day they're sandwiches and burgers are solid choices, but the eggs, bacon, and hash browns are what you really want to experience.
(4)Emily Y.
This place is cheap, and the burgers are explosions of flavor in your mouth. I normally take photos instead of writing reviews, but I honestly inhaled my burger too quickly to even consider a photograph. The vegetarian patty is also one of the best I've ever had. If you want to enjoy a phenomenal burger in an adorable environment, this is your place.
(5)Jason B.
It's you, it's me. So great to hear this live by the man himself the previous night at Mighty: youtube.com/watch?v=qHax… So great to pay just $6 for a huge and outstanding cinnamon and vanilla batter accented pancake topped with bananas the morning after. As the song goes, it was love.
(5)Natalie Charlotte W.
There was a lot on my plate when I ordered something for breakfast. I left feeling bloated, which means I left feeling like I got the amount of food I paid for and that makes me happy. Although their prices are a bit high. I wasn't amazed by the food thogh...so I will most likely not be coming back. If im around this neighborhood and really reeeally need a place to eat I'd come here or else I wouldn't bring myself back here voluntarily.
(3)Winnie T.
I got an omelette here that came with a side of potatoes. It was really heavy and I couldn't finish. The first few bites were delicious but halfway through, I just felt really heavy and couldn't stomach my way through it. Omelette was average. They are generous with the amount of avocado in the dish. I loved the potatoes, but again, too heavy after a while. Service was slow and the restaurant wasn't even full at the time.
(3)Ashley C.
This is a fantastic little gem in the city. It's boarder line on the edge of the tenderloin but at the end of Polk st and market. The food is dependable and great. My latte was perfect. Bacon crispy like I asked for it and my egg sandwich was awesome. Also a great place for an Anerican grilled cheese sandwich. Fresh squeeze OJ too.
(5)Ashley T.
Little Griddle serves up classic American food, but with a twist. They always have consistent business particularly during weekend brunches! My boyfriend and I came in for lunch, and their most unique items are definitely the burgers. The menu boasts some interesting pairings that you wouldn't necessarily expect in a burger. My boyfriend had the RIP Lucifer, which was a regular burger but with a French toast patty. I was hesitant to take a bite, but found that the sweet maple-syrupy exterior was actually surprisingly good with the cheesy beef patty. I had the Pilgrim sandwich, which was a cranberry turkey sandwich on toasted rye. The portion of turkey was generous, but it was still a little overpriced for a regular sandwich. Their sweet potato fries are a good alternative to regular fries as well. As a whole, the meal was satisfactory and a little indulgent, but I'll definitely be back to try breakfast!

'Pig in a Blanket' Omelette: $12.25 Homeless woman walking up to your table mid-meal and asking if you're done with your food: Priceless Don't get me wrong, the Little Griddle has definitely got some drool-worthy items on its menu. And for 11:30 on a Saturday morning, there was little-to-no wait for a table despite the small amount of space available in the corner restaurant. Service was great, food came quickly, and I greatly enjoyed my cheese covered bomblette with homefries - that is, until I noticed the hungry hobo staring at me from outside the Little Griddle's window. She walked back and forth around the perimeter of the restaurant licking her lips, taking turns in front of different people and their respective meals, until she found her target: moi. After looking at me and my friend as we ate for about 10 minutes, she came inside, walked up to my table and asked aggressively, "You done with your food?!" walked away then came back and asked again. Both my friend and I, along with the people around us, were so shocked that everyone shoveled their remaining food into a to-go container to give to the woman. We all thought she must've needed it badly if she was going to these measures to get it. The staff weren't as surprised. Apparently, I learned after saying good-bye to half of my breakfast, she does this on a regular basis. Will I go back? No. But if you're in for a meal and a show, this could be the spot for you.

Friendly staff, good food, good service and a nice spot to catch a brunch any day. Oh yeah, bonus points for those compostable utensils. I've been walking past this place so much lately with an intent to try the food. I'm so glad I made the decision to come here today. I ordered a wheat bagel with cream cheese and hash browns - it's very delicious. Yes, be prepared to know the prices here will be leaning toward the $11-$30 range. I must openly disclose the fact that the food here leans toward the pricey side but it is indeed fresh. This restaurant is a little small so it's not very compatible for extremely large groups. It can sit 30-40 customers (I counted 33 seats). Coming in between 10 am - 12 pm is the best decision because the probability of being able to get a seat is higher. Little Griddle is now one of my favorite go to spots for brunch. Overall, positive first time experience here so I'll definitely be back. Great spot for a restaurant here in the Civic Center area. 2/27/2014: A cup of fresh of fresh squeezed orange juice with toast on white bread is delicious. Good quick service so I'm coming back for brunch. Little Griddle is open: Sunday 7:30 am - 3:00 pm Monday 7:30 am - 5:00 pm Tuesday 7:30 am - 5:00 pm Wednesday 7:30 am - 9:00 pm Thursday 7:30 am - 9:00 pm Friday 7:30 am - 9:00 pm Saturday 7:30 am - 9:00 pm

We frequent this place for weekend breakfast and have always been impressed with the quality of food and taste. The portions are big, so it is a perfect place for sharing. Not the most healthy food, but it is a nice treat. The lattes are really good as well. Would suggest the burrito, and the hash browns are a must... think that is what they are known for. The place can get crowded and cramped but overall the service and food is great.
(4)Christophe C.
I come here a fair amount, and it's a pretty solid place for a meal. Good for brunch (the good alternative to stacks) or a burger for lunch. Okay, so their burgers are divided into three sections. Normal, adventurous, and avantgarde (okay I'm paraphrasing) but you get the point. As long as you want a patty, they have the variants.

I was feeling particularly sluggish one Saturday morning and started looking for a place that would deliver a tasty coffee drink. Enter Little Griddle. I ordered delivery on Grubhub: Mocha, Vanilla Latte, eggs over easy, toast, chicken sausage, hash browns. My order arrived in 20 minutes! Amazing! Mocha and Vanilla Latte were yummy and just what I needed. Had to warm them up in the microwave, no big deal - that's what I would expect from having coffee delivered! Toast was above average. I like a quality toast. Eggs, sausage and hash browns were average for this city, which means above average if you were anywhere else in the country. I was very satisfied. I will be ordering from them again for sure.
(4)Samantha E.
Sooooo good! The food is bomb and the service is great. They get busy very quickly with a lot of phone calls but everyone tries their best to make sure you get in and out respectfully. Did I mention the food is great!!!!
(5)Michelle B.
Little Griddle is my neighbor. This place gets packed for lunch. We love to sit outside. Staff is awesome. Great spot to go to when you need a greasy burger. Hot Mess burger is my favorite, with the sweet potato fries.
(5)Erika M.
Very polite hard working staff and amazingly fresh burgers that aren't dripping with grease. Can't wait to try the griddle cakes on my next visit!
(5)Josie D.
OK. Came here around 1 in the afternoon to enjoy brunch Pros: my burger was juicy and delicious. there was no wait to be seated Cons: -TABLES ARE REALLY CLOSE TOGETHER -RESTROOM IS UPSTAIRS IN THE FOOD SUPPLY STORAGE AREA. This lady was cutting onions while I waited for the person in the restroom to come out, I was crying because of the damn onions. -I thought I'd like the sweet potato fries but the taste boring really fast and ended up giving me a sick feeling. Same with my friend too. Omelettes looked WAY BETTER, so if I were to go back, I'd get those instead of the burgers because I think that is more worth my money. I won't be coming back anytime soon.
(3)Christine C.
This place was very... Meh. Nondescript is the word that comes to mind. Went on a Sunday around 11am for brunch with a friend. PRO: there wasn't a 1.5 hour wait. CON: perhaps there's a reason! Order at the cashier then sit down and wait for your food. I ordered the French toast with chicken apple sausage and eggs plus a mocha. Bill was ~$16. Nothing special whatsoever about any of the food. My friend enjoyed her scramble though so perhaps I just ordered the wrong thing. Given all the brunch places in SF, definitely would not recommend making the trek for this one.

So I'm actually writing this review as I wait for my order to be fixed yet again at Little Griddle. And that's my main quarrel: Almost every time I've ordered to go or dined at Little Griddle, what I've ordered has not been made correctly. I ordered the Shaka Laka sandwich today, which was supposed to come with house cranberry sauce on it. But I had to send it back 'cause there was none. Yesterday, I ordered the Where ' Reuben sandwich, but received the House Reuben instead. With that order, I tried to order grapefruit juice and was told they no longer had any. But while I sat outside eating my House Reuben, I recognized they had plenty of grapefruit juices stocked in their refrigerator. After I finished my meal, i returned the Italian soda I'd ordered for the grapefruit juice I'd originally wanted. I'd even stopped coming here for a few months because of similar examples of disregard for getting the customers' order right the first time...many times in the past. I'd ask for no onions, but still get them; I'd ask for no jalapeño, and still receive it. I would really like to like this place much more, since it's just a block from my apartment...but they seem to be accustomed to and perfectly happy with not getting my orders right the first time around.

Little Griddle- an amazing little corner restaurant in a great neighborhood. Plenty of on street metered parking. Cash only, but there is an ATM right across the street. Bring a jacket! It gets windy, and there is likely a line outside. It is a hole in the wall place with excellent food. This combo is the reason there is almost always a line. The dining area is so small, the line goes out the door. Did I mention hole in the wall? So you wait in line until you place your order at the cashier counter. Yes, you order and pay before sitting down. They give you a numbered sign to put at your table. The seating is limited, so chances are you will be sharing your table with complete strangers. Don't worry about that, though. The food is so awesome, nobody who comes in grumpy will stay that way for long! It's fun to see a guy in a hard hat and neon vest from a road crew next to a proper lady in a power suit, both chowing down hard on eggs and toast! We had an awesome omelette and Hobo Hash Browns. Lots of food. Lots of cheese. Great toast. From breakfast to burgers and salads, this place is eggcellent!
(5)James L.
First time eating here. Got the bleu-berry burger. Both the burger and fries were on point!! I love right across the street and will probably make this a dinner staple moving forward!
(5)Maggie Z.
This is a small cafe that serves big portions of food with reasonable price. The quality is good for the price. And they serve sweet potato fries, which is my favorite. I went there after hiking and i was starving! After eating there, I was really satisfied. :)
(4)Cindy V.
Lunch was okay. Me and my friend was excited to try this place, but was disappointed. The fries are really plain. I got the brunch burger and it wasn't the best burger. The service was horrible. She was rude and was not happy. I asked what was popular here, she said burgers. Well no shit.
(3)Sophia H.
After a night of clubbing, I came here with some friends for breakfast. While the food tasted good and clearly had fresh ingredients, it was way too oily and heavy for my liking. I ordered the egg scramble with apple sausage, mushroom, tomato, and onion. The dish came with hash browns, toast, and a layer of cheese over my scramble (which was not stated in the menu). Since we got our food to-go, you could see the oil drenching through the other side of the box. It smelled good though! While we were eating in the lounge of an apartment complex, several people walking by and asked us where we got our food. Overall if you're looking for a hearty meal, this is the place to go. The portions are also really big, so you'll definitely be filled. Since I didn't have much of an appetite after all the grease in the scramble, I ended up leaving the hash browns and toast largely untouched. Prices are ok. I paid about $13, which I thought wasn't too worth it.
(3)Madeleine M.
Breakfast is bomb. A little pricey.
(4)Bonnie B.
Great spot for a fast lunch. Excellent burger patty. I had the Insta grati vacation burger. Perfectly cooked. Fries were so so but great service. Try it if you're in a hurry and need a fast food lunch that's a great home-made quality.
(3)Dominic P.
The Little Griddle has the best burgers around Civic Center! I would recommend the bacon cheeseburger with American cheese!! So I used to work right down the street at 9th and Market and we would all get bacon cheeseburgers every Friday! I can't get over how delicious the food is at the Little Griddle. The line can be very long during the lunch hour, so it's best to call in your order before! Enjoy!!
(5)Lewis C.
Eggs, sausage, hash browns and thick, house-baked sourdough toast. Caught them right before they shifted from the breakfast menu to the lunch menu. Food was great and service was quick. Tons more items on the menu look worth trying. All the dishes people had around me also looked very good.
(4)Jake H.
I want to like this place, I really, really do...but, unfortunately they have NEVER gotten my order right. I don't order some crazy, abstract thing, I order from their menu, and they constantly fail to deliver. Before you think I'm dramatic over one mistake, I live across the street which sadly leaves this as my only local breakfast joint and I've been here quite a bit. They fail to understand that over medium does not mean liquidy, runny eggs (over easy), nor does it mean hard, completely cooked, eggs (hard boiled). Consistently, they've served me a mixture of the two, and rarely the "over medium" eggs that I ordered..oh, and also on toast so burnt it's not edible. They also can't seem to grasp the concept of "chocolate chip griddle cakes" because I've gotten orders with no chips (literally, they smeared nutella on it), or I've gotten a pancake with hard, unmelted chips on top. When I've asked them to microwave it, they shrug and say "we don't have a microwave." I'm no chef, but I can cook eggs over medium, use a toaster to toast bread (and take it out before it's black), and add chips to pancake mix. This place deserves zero stars but sadly, it's not an option.

If someone asked where to get "brunch" in SF, I'd point them to a $30 piece of French toast and a plate of Passenger Pigeon Eggs Benedict. But for breakfast, I'll direct them straight to the Little Skillet. This has everything I look for in a breakfast place. Omelettes loaded with quality ingredients (ideally including avocado and some sort of pork product), something involving a sweet potato, and a bottomless cup of coffee. The coffee alone is worth a review. They've got carafes of several different Stumptown roasts out - and for a couple dollars you can sample them all until you get heart palpitations. Sweet potato wise? They've got sweet potato fries. You can add them to any dish and you totally should. And the omelettes are good. I'm partial to the "piglet in a blanket", but am delighted by the other varieties, too. The space itself is nice. It's a corner unit completely covered with windows. Not an especially scenic part of town, but the light is excellent.
(5)Dan E.
Very much enjoyed my lunch here. Had a delicious Ruben and my wife had a great burger. I was jealous of all the breakfast food others' had ordered too! Everything seemed reasonably priced too and service was competent.
(4)Kirsten H.
Food was great!!! Took almost an hour to get our food after we were seated. I had the french toast with bacon. The french toast was delicious, very moist, reminded me of bread pudding. Bacon had good flavor. Do NOT order a bloody mary. Very disappointing. It is tomatoe juice with a splash of vodka, no seasoning or garnish.
(4)Lauren H.
Solid, greasy burger and breakfast spot. The burgers and breakfast sandwiches are huge! The coffee is stump town - so always good. It's small with only 7 or 8 tables and some counter space, but the tables turnover pretty quickly. I would definitely recommend it if you're in MidMarket.
(4)Megha P.
No idea how this place has 4 stars. The worst breakfast I have ever had in the city. The place was dirty, the chocolate on the pancakes tasted old and weren't melted. All the food was very bland.
(1)Albie F.
The Little Griddle is a BIG deal for breakfast, especially if you're in the Civic Center. The well made omelets come with a generous side of crispy hash browns that are not overly fried or oily. Muenster cheese is offered for your omelet which I don't see offered often at your typical breakfast joints. It's not a huge place but there was plenty of room on a Thursday morning at 10am. Being across the street from Twitter HQ, I wonder if they have large tech crowds pouring in earlier in the mornings.
(5)Jaehak Y.
I love the breakfast food here. If I remember correctly, my breakfast was called "Pop's Ritual." Basically hashbrowns, an omelet, and toast. Extremely filling and delicious. The omelets could have used a bit more salt but that's something you can add in yourself. We had a party of 6 and pretty much everyone was satisfied with their meals. Seating can be a bit difficult to find but if you're diligent you'll get your table easily enough. No TV though so if you're looking to keep up to date with the World Cup, don't go here. Only one complaint: the donut hamburger or whatever the hell it's called - they don't have that anymore and just keep it on the menu to draw people in. Seems rather dishonest to me. Other than that, it's good breakfast food for good value.
(4)Priyanka P.
Little griddle is a hit of miss. Their breakfast bagels are great , but waiting here is chaotic. They surely need to come up with a better process for giving out the orders. The girl at the counter is friendly but she seems inattentive. I've had the egg and cheese sammie which was great value for price.Filled with egg and really well made. The burger here is "meh" dripping in oil and not that enjoyable. Fries are great ! Overall if you work in the mid-market this is one of the better places to eat
(3)Kate M.
This place is yummy and quick for brunch. There's never a long wait and the dishes are solid. I like the scrambles, although they tend to be pretty cheese heavy. Would also recommend opting for the bacon over the sausage as the portions are a bit heartier and overall tastier! The French toast is also yummy, although nothing special. Sometimes you get crazy folk peering in through the window, but I guess that's just Civic Center for you.
(4)Pedro D.
I wanted to try this little place and finally I had the chance, but the house bugger it wasn't so bad as the side salad they offer.. I waited for a long time to order my food .. They girl who works behind counter is super sweet. They should hire more people to help her get the food quickly... I didn't find their Better then Starbucks, and I was hoping their coffee would be... I might give it a try Sometimes near future.. Since I leave very close it would be a great new location to have breakfast on my days off..
(3)Mellow M.
OK, that was an experience I don't need to have again. Dirty silverware, long wait. Meh food. $35 breakfast for two. The coffee was decent...
(2)Casey S.
My last stop before leaving San Fran today and I couldn't be happier with the choice for breakfast. I had the a+ student omelette (veggie) and a spicy Bloody Mary. The staff were quick, awesome, and friendly. The good was freakin epic. I loved it. Probably the best omelette I've ever had. I can't wait to come back and grub again. I also redeemed my free high five at check in - that was good too.
(5)Roslyn H.
One of the better choices in the Civic Center/Tenderlion area, this place has friendly service, food is made to order, but the unique options can be a bit off from time to time. I've been her a total of three times: First time, I ordered the Hummarian sandwich. The bleu cheese, bbq sauce, and hummus all clashed and simpl just did not compliment one another. Also, the tomatoes were extremely soggy, as if they had been cut a day or more beforehand. Cashier was friendly. Second time, I ordered the BLT, which I liked very much. Freshly cooked thick cut bacon cooked with a nice crisp is any bacon lover's dream. But again, the tomatoes were extremely soft and soggy. Fries were were hot and crispy. My third time there, I decided to try the Bleu-Berry burger (I'm quite adventrous when it comes to food). Surprisingly, the combo worked pretty well for me (the tartness of the cranberry mixes well with with the robust flavor of the bleu cheese, IMHO). Once again, super soggy tomatoes, but worst of all my, my meat was under done (with a pink middle). Each time, the cashier was extremely friendly. Be prepared to wait a bit if you go during lunch time since food is cooked to order. Also, dining area inside is quite small, but there is seating outside as well. May go back just simlple for the bacon.

This was an odd blend of hipster & greasy spoon. I definitely appreciated the various Stumptown blends for the bottomless coffee mugs, as well as the variety of breakfast foods they offered - breakfast sandwiches are a good idea. The servings were pretty huge (they could easily feed two people), which I guess mitigates the somewhat expensive prices. I thought the food was pretty decent, although a little on the greasy side, which is good if that's what you're looking for. I was happy that we found a table for 5 on a Sunday at 9 AM, but it ended up being pretty loud and a bit crowded. It's a good option for the area, but I wouldn't come by if I weren't nearby.

I loved this little organic dine in. I had brunch here and although It was about $12-$15 a plate it absolutely delicious! It overlooks Downtown SF and has a god view. However, there are not many tables and it gets pretty crowded and stuffy nonetheless would recommend to anyone!

Had the Evil Knevil. Watched them commit the cardinal sin of smashing all the juices out of my burger. End result was some parts were dry. The fries were bland and lukewarm. If you like fatboy greasy spoon diners then you won't go wrong here.
(3)David O.
The food is okay but fat, but the service is very bad . I ordered two cheeseburgers to go, and had to wait 35 minutes to get my food.

I live directly across the street from the Little Griddle, it is convenient, quick, and satisfying. 3 Reasons why I love the Little Griddle: 1. They serve burgers. Just a burger...you know the way a burger should be, nothing fancy, out of the ordinary, not a burger in disguise... just a good old fashioned RELIABLE burger, & that's the way it should be! 2. Everything is fresh. 3. The breakfast is basic and delicious. Nothing fancy, just respectable eggs and hash browns. Tips: The turkey burger is delicous, well seasoned not dry, and they use fresh Diestel farms Turkey--I respect that! The fresh squeezed OJ is refreshing at any time of the day. Do not come here expecting to order a truffled, whatchamacallit, bone marrow, lobster tail burger, because what you will not find it here. Be respectful & nice, the establishment is small, cramped, and always busy! Check your order before you leave if you get to-go, I have got someone else's order before, but how could you blame them for being so busy? Everyone love's the Little Griddle!

My wife and I ate breakfast here. The food wasn't necessarily bad, but it also wasn't that great. This place is tiny! there's pretty much nowhere to sit. Based on what I experienced, I definitely won't be missing out on much if I don't ever go back.
(1)Justin Y.
I'm so glad this place is right across the street from me. Actually one of my favorite breakfast spots in the city even with hundreds of others out there. I love their Hobo Hash. Meat with hash browns and onions. The serving is quite filling as well. Their orange juice is also very good. It is expensive but can tell it is freshly squeezed.
(5)Robert B.
Fantastic breakfast. Both times I've been I was impressed. Had a scramble the first time and an omelet the second. Zero disappointment. Saw the burgers, def gotta make a lunch stop soon. The one downside (not their fault) is the size. It's really small and can get busy, making tables a rare commodity.
(4)Vicki R.
Good breakfast/brunch and wished they served it all day instead of burgers in the afternoon. Overall the burger is okay, too much bun for my liking, and the fries meh, especially for the price. Go for breakfast!
(4)Christina S.
I came to this teeny tiny little location with two friends and had to worry about our seating situation before even thinking about food. You'll most likely be crammed up against some new friends, so get cozy and be friendly. I got the brunch burger and requested it medium rare, because a handy sign on the register tells you that they cook burgers medium well unless requested otherwise. Well, I requested otherwise, and it was easily well done. A disappointment. The burger was fairly tasty, but the egg was completely cooked, not over easy like most brunch burgers. The fries were not impressive but super plentiful. The orange juice and coffee were pretty good though. I'm not overly enthusiastic about Little Griddle. Maybe if they had cooked my burger the way I asked them too, and maybe if the patty was less peppery. Maybe I'll be back.
(2)Kim-Anh P.
We stopped by mid-afternoon for a snack and coffee. My co-workers got the coffee and liked it, and I ordered the sweet potato fries which were thick, crispy and delicious! Would love to come back some time to try some of their other items like sandwiches with fried eggs in them.

2.5 stars. Verging on 3. Ordered a traditional burger with cheese with side salad online and it took about 25 minutes to get my to-go order. I walked about 1.5 blocks to eat it. 1/3 of the bun was already soggy. I ordered it medium, but it was cooked medium rare. It was very greasy. The salad was not a salad but rather a container of spring mix with a container of dressing. Nary a baby tomato in sight. And a few of the pieces of lettuce were already wilted and blackening. :/ Despite these shortcomings, the burger was good- and that's probably because they use Niman Ranch beef and some secret sauce. I will give them another try. And complain in person about the pathetic salad. Oh and I forgot to mention they use plastic forks. ;)

Yummy! Always love this place & go when I can. The food is just good. I always get the burgers (all different ones) and each one is meaty, cheesy & cooked to perfection. The establishment is small & hurdling boxes to get to the bathroom is always fun, but the food is great, so who cares?
(5)F G.
Good burgers, lots of love for the food. a little bit gross looking and sticky tables but very much a child of the neighborhood. let's hope the crowd from NEMA and whatnot don't ruin this place as well...
(4)Liz J.
Great place for breakfast. I must of had breakfast and parking zen. Parked close by half a block away on Fell St., placed my order, and grabbed the open table near the window. It's cozy and people are friendly. The parade of people passing by outside was truly interesting. They delivered my breakfast, silverware and then the drink. The huge scramble with hash browns was hot and tasty. Bathroom is in the back up the stairs. It's also part of their work area. I like walking through there. I imagined seeing Paulie and Silvio hanging around waiting for Tony. Nope just the help.
(4)Allison L.
My burger was dry and underwhelming. It really didn't have much taste. Didn't appreciate chewing on pieces of gristle either. A huge heap of fries came with my burger, which I enjoyed very much. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but I'd say they've got a long way to go before serving even a decent cheeseburger in a city like SF.
(2)Noah C.
This has been my partner and I's typical breakfast place for the past two years. Cheap, big, hearty breakfast that you can't pass up when you really need to fill up. Whole layout and menu very simple straight forward American breakfast/lunch and the place is generally pretty clean. If you're looking for a real, substantial breakfast in SF I would say come here, unless all you want is mimosas and overpriced toast, then this is the wrong place. Best wishes Little Griddle!

I've been walking by this place everyday on my way to work. My friend suggested we meet for lunch here to catch up. When I went to look the place up on yelp, I started drooling over the menu. Then I saw there was the Eat24 app attached to Little Griddle. Perfect, I'll order ahead, have time to eat with friend (like humans who get a longer lunch hour). The Eat24 told me the restaurant was closed today. I had walked by earlier and knew it was not closed. SO I called. Whoever answered the phone had me waiting for at least 10 other orders. And I get that. Why would you want to help someone you can't see over the phone when there are real live people in front of you. I chose to walk there instead and just order to go. When I arrived, the line wasn't too bad, they weren't overly busy. However, the girl ringing everyone up paused between each order to accept an incoming phone order. Where was that courtesy five mins earlier? At least they had beer. As I am finishing my beer, I realized I hadn't heard them call my name yet. Look at the clock and I am wayyyy past my due date to get back to office. Sit down at my desk and chow down on my burger. I got the Southern Dream or something. Really good, with it only having meat cheese and bacon on it. (Veggies on side) Once I finish the burger, I go looking for the rest of my avocado. THEY GAVE ME 1 SLICE OF AVOCADO. Not even a good size slice. My friends 6 week old embryo has gotta be bigger than that slice. Which has me wondering why I just spent $20 on lunch to get shorted on service and AVO. Also, if you disabled the Eat24 app, Please take it off the yelp page. It's just a big tease.

Great spot for lunch if you love burgers and sandwhiches. Greasy, tasty, savory...ahhh. Hit the spot. Loved the different varieties and the ambience. Small place, but great people.
(4)Mohamed M.
Am in love with this place , it's really close to my office , amazing food , amazing people It's great
(5)Stacy T.
I absolutely adore this little burger shop. It's right across the street from my building (and I get 10% off for being a NEMA resident!), and as a burger addict I'm so happy it's here. $10-12 for a burger and fries (get sweet potato! yum!), exceptionally friendly and fast service, fresh products and fun flavors -- I have literally nothing bad to say. EXCEPT, note, sadly, they don't serve booze. What's a burger without a beer? Especially now that the Pearl's at 6th is closed (single tear), this is the best place in the hood to get your meaty fix.
(5)Lisa A.
Really liked this place. I found out after eating here that its run by people from Brooklyn and I can totally see that influence. Tiny place, a little hipstery. You order at a counter and they bring the food to you. No alcohol served but they serve any espresso coffee items ur heart could desire, create ur own flavor Italian sodas, fresh oj, matcha, etc. You can substitute a bagel, donut, or pastry for toast with ur breakfast. They have a wide selection of burgers (or turkey or veggie burgers.) Careful going upstairs to the find the bathroom though. I walked up stairs, shut the door and realized I had wandered into some dark food pantry/closet. Otherwise, I really liked this place. Friendly accomodating staff and good food.
(5)Emily C.
Hawai'i Burger was delicious! Pineapple + apple smoked bacon + teriyaki sauce = yummy blend of flavors greeting you with each bite! I loved the juiciness of the burger and how they give you the veggies (tomato + onions + lettuce and lots of pickles) on the side. I also got the dirty chai latte which was amazing... you can taste the different spices blended in. Must get! Seating is limited inside and not enough chairs. You should come here when the yearly gay pride parade is in town, people watching while devouring my burger was entertaining... spotted two guys in purple panties wearing shaggy purple boots and lotsa people in rainbow tutus!

I'm deathly afraid that the emergence of Twitter across the street will change this place. Let's hope for the best..... As cliche as it may sound, you can actually taste the quality of the ingredients here. Expect your usual diner/breakfast fare - hash browns, eggs, coffee, bacon. Except... much better quality. You may not be able to tell that it's been made with love, but it certainly was made with skill. My eggs have been perfect every time. The hobo hash was like a cheeseburger tossed into hash browns. Great quality ground beef, crispy hash browns, perfectly grilled onions, with 2 sunny-side up eggs resting on top. I chose thick-sliced rye to sop up all the goodness - but all of their bread would be just as perfect. GREAT COFFEE. Even if it's not brewed regularly.... quality beans always translate to a quality cup of coffee. I chose the south american - but they have coffee from other regions as well... so there's a good variety. I love that they keep the soy out. Anyhoo.... I hope they stick around. We'll be back.
(5)Mike M.
Still cant get over how good the breakfast I had here, and it was almost two weeks ago! Best Hash browns I have had in years, the bacon was awesome too! VERY friendly staff!! The gal at the counter had THE BEST personality ever!! I cant wait to Visit SF again and stop here for breakfast!!
(5)Ryan S.
Came here for lunch on friday and ordered the traditional cheeseburger. It was pretty good, not bad. The fries are really good also. My girlfriend got the Pilgrim sandwich(turkey and cranberry) she thought the cranberry sauce was way too sweet and didnt mesh well with the mayo they put in it. SHE also wants me to mention that the turkey seemed store bought. (thats just her opinion) i liked my burger and thought the service was fast and friendly for how busy they were. I also appreciate the free refills. I will stop now.
(3)Ryan B.
Honestly, I probably walked by this place like 10 times before going in. Not sure why there is a big sign and lots of people inline at lunch. However once I ventured in I was pleasantly surprised. The place is a high quality breakfast/lunch spot. They do things simple and GOOD. While they have the typical burger and fries on the menu they also have some really tasty salads. The staff handle the lunch crowed well for such a small space and are always super friendly. They really make you feel at home. Things to know. The sitting area is small. But the turn over is fast. Check it out.
(5)David C.
I stopped by here because I wanted some breakfast before an interview and I tried their bacon, egg, cheese sandwich. Their breakfast sandwiches have different variations with different meats. I felt like bacon was and fatty choice. I picked 9 grain bread and swiss cheese. The total came out to be around 6 bucks, which seemed expensive at the time but I just assumed it was inflation for SF prices. After waiting for a few minutes my sammich came out pipping hot. I wasn't expecting much from the description, egg, bacon and cheese... but when it came out I was shocked.the cheese was perfectly melted, the bacon was cut thick, and the eggs were super fluffy and folded. I don't usually like creamy and fluffy eggs, but Little Griddle changed my mind. The 9 grain bread was also amazing. It didn't taste like something you could just get from the super market. It was sweet, toasted on the sides, and moist on the inside (probably from the butter they used, yum!). I like my breakfast cheap and simple, Little Griddle showed me what one can do with a simple combination for a little more money. I'll definitely be back if/when I am in the area.
(4)LL C.
line can be long during peak times but it moves fast enough, burgers and fries are solid, small place w/ cramped/limited seating
(4)Marie-T F.
I had the HOBO HASH sans cheese. It was ok. Tons of food, HUGE portion! I wish the hash browns had been crispier and I would have preferred some greens on the side instead of the giant portion of meat and potatoes to make it a more balanced meal. I like the no frills diner style set up and the service was fast and friendly. Stump town coffee is always a plus, soy chai was great if not too sweet. I'd try this place again if I were in the neighborhood but would probably order something else.
(3)Lily W.
More like 3.5 stars, but perhaps I did not order the right thing. Then again, I'm under the impression that at a great place, you can order anything and it just come out delicious. It was ok, but I don't understand the rave reviews I came by when I had something in the area, and I wanted to grab food quickly. This was relatively quick...for me. A huge line appeared after me, and I was glad I got in early! The staff here were very friendly, and is why I'm pushing it up a bit. The food itself, was blah. What I had: Lemonade: tasted like the instant mix stuff...and was overly sweet. It might have benefited from a couple slices of real lemons. Just to give me the sour taste. Egg, Mushroom, and Spinach sandwich. It was...ok. A little greasy, as they toasted the bread in probably a pound of butte (but that DID make it flavorful). The mushrooms color leached into everything, so my eggs looked brown. So...I had mushroom flavor, but the look was not appealing. Fries: Now, I had this as a take-away, so it might not always be like this...but my fries were super soggy. Like...wilted and sad. =( The servers were super nice, and very quick about the orders. Other than that, this place felt like a typical in/out kind of place. Maybe I should come back for just their brunch...

Yum, a great little neighborhood diner. It's small and hipster. You can find everyone and anyone sitting in here, enjoying brunch or donuts and coffee or a burger and fries... very homey, very welcoming, a little cramped. There are plenty of food options. In fact, enough of them to make ordering somewhat difficult because it ALL looks good. You stand in line to order, and your food is brought out to you. The wait isn't too bad and gives you plenty of time to chat with your fellow dinerrs. I also love the little table signs (numbers) they give you. Each one is different, cute and kitschy. The plates are all pretty large and I don't think anyone I was with finished a full meal (though I came close). The breakfast sandwich my boyfriend had looked amazing on an everything bagel with chunky avocado slices on top. Another friend ordered a scramble, which arrived picture perfect - the cheese just the right amount of 'meltey' over the top. I had an egg-white omelette that was stuffed with turkey sausage, peppers, onions, mushrooms and spinach. No skimping on the good stuff here! Interestingly, they also have INCREDIBLE donuts. The texture is so soft and light - fluffly like a cloud of delicious happiness. I've never had a chocolate frosted that could match it. Points for the caddies of condiments on the tables, They have a minimum of 3-5 hot sauces, which is a total enhancement for any establishment that offers eggs. The omelettes come with fresh sour cream and chives, though I did have to ask for mine so I'm not sure what happened there. Tap water is offered on the side of the counter, but the coffee and specialty drinks are worth ordering. Not super cheap, but then again... we got a LOT of food. Lunch visit impending! (And I'd also like to try the Cray Cray cakes based on the name alone.)

Come on Little Griddle staff! You would get 5 stars if you clean up your act. Geezzzz! Do you realize how many tourist and SF residence you're feeding everyday? I would like to know you care more. I live across the street from Little Griddle so I eat there at least once every two weeks. The food is good and quick, which is convenient. I am giving it only 3 stars because I just noticed the health department's inspection Health Score for Little Griddle is 79 out of 100. Violations * Inadequate food safety knowledge or lack of certified food safety manager [date violation corrected: 5/7/2013] * Moderate risk food holding temperature [date violation corrected: 5/7/2013] * Foods not protected from contamination [date violation corrected: 5/7/2013] * High risk vermin infestation [date violation corrected: 5/7/2013] * Wiping cloths not clean or properly stored or inadequate sanitizer [date violation corrected: 5/7/2013]

breakfast food on steroids everything you love about breakfast but three times the standard serving size i love my breakfast foods and everything we ordered was delicious

Little Griddle is the closest place to get food where I am currently living. It's a tiny cramped space, but the help is so friendly! There will be days that you just cannot get a seat, though. And it's run by a Brooklynite so it almost makes me miss the east coast less. For the area, it's one of the better choices, but it's not really anything special. Spinach & Cheese Omelette: A very large omelette- it took up about half of the plate. It came with toast and the largest portion of home fries I've ever seen. It was half of a dinner plate. The overall meal was really greasy, though. Traditional Burger ($9.31): A good cheeseburger of fair portion size. But they forgot the Little Griddle sauce last time. The high point here is the service. Everyone is really friendly and pleasant. I ran out of water once, and one of the guys behind the counter brought me another. How nice is that? If you are in need of a decent and filling meal while in the area, this is a pretty good place to stop. They do accept credit cards.

## Donut Burger vs Donut Burger ## LITTLE GRIDDLE: "Lucifer Burger" $9 Bun: One donut, halved & toasted. Served sticky-side-in. Burger: Single patty, medium well unless requested otherwise. Extras: Already comes w/ cheese, bacon, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, pickles, & fries. Artery Slaughter: Greasier & stickier than the Ringmaster. Verdict: Fun to assemble, greasy. The lightweight of the two. Photo: yelp.com/user_local_phot… STRAW: "Ringmaster" $12 & up Bun: Two donuts, one on top & another on the bottom. Burger: One or two thick patties with cheese. Extras: Can add bacon, fried egg, avocado. No veggies (sorry, vegans). Artery Slaughter: Less gloopy, but 2 donuts x 2 patties = monster. Verdict: An event in and of itself. Don't go alone. Photo: yelp.com/user_local_phot…

Had the grandmas' griddle-it was 'OK'. Apple sausage was lukewarm and my 'over easy' eggs were solid yolks. Pancakes were kind of bland.
(3)H L.
Cute place and great location. Really good place to eat in, less great for delivery or takeout. Totally recommend the brunch menu on the weekends!
(3)Adam J.
Little Griddle is named as such because its only real cooking apparatus is a little griddle. So you kind of can guess what's on the menu. Eggs, burgers, sandwiches, hash browns, etc. If it can't be cooked on a smallish griddle, you ain't eating it here. I had a breakfast sandwich that was like turkey, spinach, onion, egg, and cheese, and it was buttery and hot and delicious. I also have to give the Little Griddle the award for Best Hash Browns on this trip. I loaded them suckers up with hot sauce and I was super full and super satisfied. Tanya was craving good hash browns so much that she had Ultimate Hash Browns, which is basically a big plate of browns smothered in cheese, avocado, and guacamole, and served with two eggs. It was a little one-note, unfortunately, though if we were both hungover, I bet it would have been the best thing we'd ever eaten. It was hot in there and the sun was shining through the windows baking us, and there's a real hipster vibe, plus a bit of a "you're not a regular, who are you?" thing going on with the staff. The menu isn't extensive, but they do a good job with the limited space and equipment that they have, and it was probably the best overall breakfast I had in town, even if it was simplistic.
(4)Steve L.
Three stars feels about right; four-plus if they would've had a window shade or two... I'm a breakfast fan. I'll eat breakfast for breakfast, lunch, dinner, midnight snack - whatever, whenever, wherever. Throw some eggs, some veggies, and a little cheese together and color me happy. Little Griddle didn't disappoint, although it could use a few minor improvements (very minor). "Little" Griddle is an accurate descriptor - the place is tiny. Maybe 5-6 tables, most of which are two-top. There's an even smaller window ledge/bar that most of the "to go" order folks sit and wait at. Because it was so busy when I was here, I chose to sit at the window ledge and eat. Selected the "Bits and bites" - a scrambled concoction of chicken apple sausage, onion, tomato, and mushrooms. I asked for pepper jack cheese as well. The plate included hash browns and toast. With coffee and soda, the total came to just over $15. A huge selection of Zokka coffee provided limitless options (and refills). I would've tried 'em all, but it's no fun drinking hot coffee while crammed into a tiny seat and baking from the sun. I was literally sweating as I waited for my breakfast. The food arrived - it was decent, but lacking "something" - despite the awesome list of ingredients, it just felt plain and unexciting. It wasn't bad; it wasn't stellar. It was serviceable. The hash browns looked crispy, but they were a bit lifeless both in texture and in flavor. The 9-grain toast was tasty; pillowy and perfectly crispy. With beads of sweat running from my forehead, I wrapped-up my breakfast and squirmed/bumped/shimmied my way out of the place; it was rapidly filling-up with people. Little Griddle = OK Food = 3 stars Service = 3 stars (no real table service; order at the counter & they drop it off w/you) Value = 2.5 stars (a bit pricey, but it's SF) MISC = 1 star (window shades - PLEASE!)
(3)TJ P.
OMG FREE HIGH FIVES!!!!! That's right, you get a free HIGH FIVE when you check-in on Yelp!!!! It's super amazing! I'm a regular here and proud of it, though I admit I only come here for breakfast. Never even tried their lunch offerings. But you can't go wrong with the Backyard Medley scramble. Oh so good. My one complaint is something that most other folks would probably see as a good thing. The portion size of the hash browns is freaking huge. I feel bad every time because I leave half of them behind. But if that's the worst thing here, they're doing pretty well. High Five!
(4)Ingrid A.
Wow! So yum!!
(5)Luke M.
This is an upright little breakfast nook with big pancakes and hearty plates. Definitely a net positive for the area. They are reasonably priced and just 1 little step away from 4 stars. That little step is getting rid of the Smucker's jelly.
(3)Sriram I.
Killer sandwiches. Even the vegetarian options are humongous and delicious. The fries are very very tasty as well.
(4)Rodney H.
Litte Griddle was stop #1 on my birthday food crawl (12/31/11). And I came here to try the one thing that's got me curious since I've seen something like it on Man v. Food, their Lucifer burger. Yeah I know, a burger for breakfast? That's right! Because it's my birthday and I'll eat what I want to. Behold, the Lucifer ( yelp.com/user_local_phot… ). Really now, a bacon cheeseburger with a glazed donut bun? Trust me, it's an explosion of flavors in your mouth when you take that first bite with the strange balance of sweet and savory. It just works! Because it was breakfast time, they served the Lucifer with Hash Browns instead of Fries which was not a bad trade-off actually. They were very crispy and I think I would've preferred them over Fries anyways since it was breakfast time. I'm definitely returning again to Little Griddle. The Lucifer will have to take a backseat for a while though since it's so rich and not for the faint of heart. That's okay though, they've still got a whole menu of things I'd love to try. What an interesting meal to start my birthday food crawl!!
(5)Bri R.
Eh my husband and I grabbed some breakfast here this past weekend before a movie. The food was okay, nothing stood out. Real complaint was the seating. I did love that the portion was nice and hefty. Hate when places skimp out on the eggs.
(3)Charles R.
This is the best place to get a burger in SF. They use Niman Ranch beef, which always tastes fresh and is sustainably raised in the Bay Area. If you're into blue cheese, I strongly recommend the pig fungeness. If you're on the verge of starving to death but don't care about heart attacks, try the evel knievel- DOUBLE burger with lots of bacon & cheese. Their breakfast sandwiches are amazing too- ham, egg, & cheddar on sourdough is the way to go. They also have bagels, salads, and sandwiches on the menu if you're looking for lighter fare. If you're near Civic Center and want some good ol' American food, this is the place.
(5)Pungkin P.
The place is packed for last minute brunch-ers. The cashier is very attentive. I haven't had the chance to explore the sweets or dessert menu. I really liked my vegetarian loaded hash brown. I would definitely come back again!
(4)Andy O.
Delicious food. Generous portions. Friendly workers. Vast selection of your tried-and-true (read: boring) items, along with a good mix of more bro-that-sounds-crazy choices. In terms of flavors, they deserve a solid five stars. Sadly, the atmosphere is just a little dreary and cafe-at-the-bottom-of-your-office-building-ish, meaning you don't really want to come here with friends. But... you'd feel like a tubby little tubster eating this food alone. Sort of a mismatch between your flavors and where you're sitting. Like being served a chef's tasting menu at Burger King or something. Oh well, maybe once it gets more popular.
(4)Jeremy R.
Still love this place. I've been adventuring into breakfast land as of late and have not been let down. Finally got around to trying an espresso drink. FINALLY, a mocha that doesn't taste like a milky hot chocolate. I am currently pleasantly caffeinated and sipping on the perfect blend of chocolate, coffee, and milk. I will be trying everything I can from the drinks menu and suggest you do, too!
(5)Jenny L.
12.09.12 || bookmarked 09.14.11 Great little neighborhood place if you want a hearty meal. The three of us arrived a bit after noon to a packed house. Ordering didn't take long, but finding a seat to fit our group proved challenging. That is, fortunately, my only knock on Little Griddle. I had the Mr. Wiggles scramble - apple smoked bacon, green bell peppers, crimini mushrooms, sliced yellow onions, and diced stake tomatoes. Add an enormous side of hash browns and a slice of toasted sourdough, and I got myself two meals. Throw in a cup of coffee (many choices to pour yourself, with free refills), and you will walk out with a full stomach. Just enough to coat it in time to watch the Niners win on Sunday. Like.
(4)Nolan M.
Excellent burgers, and even better breakfast. Definitely hands down the best in the area. Only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because there is so much good food competition in SF that I need to save the 5 stars for the truly exceptional!
(4)Marti L.
Little Griddle gets 5 stars because I've been here on 3 separate occasions and every time I've been impressed with my order. Visit #1: The Lucifer (burger with bacon, bacon & donut buns) yelp.com/biz_photos/qjUC… It's hard to imagine, but the glaze from the donut was incredible with the burger. Everything just melted together into one sinfully delicious mess! Visit #2: Evil Knievel (double patty with cheddar, muenster, pepperjack cheese, bacon & Little Griddle sauce) yelp.com/biz_photos/qjUC… Not only was this burger huge, it was also amazing. The combination of cheese and the Little Griddle sauce blew my mind! Visit #3: Ultimate Hashbrown (hashbrown with cheddar, sour cream, avocado & 2 eggs) yelp.com/biz_photos/qjUC… Thought I'd go with something different, and it exceeded my expectations. Hashbrown cooked to a perfect crispiness. No skimping on the ingredients. Yum! Things to know: 1) burger patties are made with Nimon natural ground beef, so they are juicy and delicious. 2) their burgers are also plenty messy, so be sure to take precautions. 3) it is worth the extra $1.50 for the sweet potato fries. 4) portions are big, so come with an appetite or someone to share. 5) they have an incredibly busy lunch rush, so plan accordingly.
(5)Farrell W.
Oh man. This place has a mean hipster fever goin' on but they can cook them a burger. Love the names of the burgers too, I'm a sucker for food-punnage. Do me a favor - even if you always get the same old basic crap when you eat out, ditch that philosophy here. They know what they're doing. They even have a burger that comes between a sliced donut if you want some instant diabetes. It gets a little loud so don't bring grandma.

Nice little brunch spot featuring the usual brunchy fare. They serve Stumptown coffee, I think, which is a rarity in SF. Ordered a reuben sandwich and a latte. I liked the food just fine, and it's a nice place to grab a bite if you find yourself in the mid-market area in the morning or early afternoon, but it isn't all that remarkable. A bit crowded and rushed, actually. This place would probably be considered run-of-the-mill if it were located somewhere else, like Hayes Valley, Noe Valley, Cole Valley, The Mission, The Haight, the Inner Sunset or the Divisadero/Fell area, where bruncheterias are three-to-a-block.

Their bottomless coffee and amazing French Toast with apple smoked beacons...yum Great brunch place! But be aware they close pretty early (3pm)

This is one of my favorite breakfast places in the city. Even more so because you never have to wait for an hour on weekend mornings. Prices are very reasonable, I almost always get take out, their "The Weekend" sandwich is the best and comes with hashbrowns, it's the best.
(5)Alexandra H.
This place kicks ass for breakfast and lunch! It's a little tiny and seating is impossible if you have a group bigger than 4, but man oh man is the food good. The burgers, the pancakes, heck even the oatmeal kicks ass!
(4)Erika C.
I had Grandma's Griddles ($9.65 for 2 housemade griddle cakes with Clover milk, 2 cage-free eggs & 2 maple sausages). It was aiiiiite. I guess this is closer to me than Stacks if I want breakfast for lunch, but it was pretty mediocre. Actually the maple sausages were straight up bad. Are we supposed to applaud cage-free eggs and Clover milk? The eggshell IS a cage for the egg. I shall stone them for this trickery! Is a cage-free egg supposed to be a happy egg? And the Clover milk! Why is this exciting? It's advertised all over the Bay Area on billboards with those oh-so-clever (or is it oh-so-clover? heh heh) double entendres. And you can get it at most supermarkets! God, I'm a bitch. I probably wasn't a cage-free egg.

Wow my review started out as 4 star then went down to 3 when they started staying open later hours because quality went down . Now I tried them again recently on a weekday and they are no where the restaurant they used to be! Since I started working near Hayes Valley, I've had a chance to try this several times over the past year and I really, really wanted it to still be good. I had faith but I am so disappointed. This has the potential to be a gold mine! They use mostly organic ingredients and local stuff they just really need an overhaul with management. It's filthy inside (I guess it always was), they more often than not get the to-go order wrong, the quality of everything went downhill. The buns are stale or over cooked (burnt), the lettuce and vegs that comes on the side are wilted and bruised, the bacon is usually undercooked, even if I ask for extra crispy. Even the fries (which have been the most consistent thing so far) were over cooked this time. This latest time I got the turkey burger which was a mistake. It tasted ok but then I smelled something odd and took the meat out and the smell was just "off" I couldn't finish it but I'm not docking it for that. The cashiers are always friendly but I watch the line and while the cook making the burgers seems efficient, the one putting it together is slow, sloppy and I waited for 10 mins after he got the burger for him to finish mine! The restaurant was not even half full when this happened. I don't know what took so long, but my burger with it's greasy fatty bacon was room temp by the time I got it. To the owner- please wake up and get new management in and save this place!!

Best burgers in town!
(5)Helen L.
This place is simply amazing. This place was quick with the order and the prices didn't break the wallet! My only issue is that there is few seating! I went there and got their American Burger, it did not disappoint! Will definitely come here again and maybe next time I will try something from their breakfast menue!
(4)Alex L.
You could walk in here, close your eyes, point to a random place on the menu and walk out blissful and stuffed. I got a scramble called Mr Wiggles, and it was just fantastic. The seating area is pretty cramped and the restaurant is pretty busy so plan to spend at least 45 minutes there, or get your food to go.
(5)Fidela B.
Came here for breakfast on a Sunday and it was pretty fantastic. Can get a little packed with a smaller dining room but I suppose that's all part of the appeal. I ordered a standard breakfast (eggs, bacon, etc.) but kind of regretted it and wish I'd been a little more adventurous. Also I loved all the coffee options- big plus.

**just found this in my saved drafts. Must've forgot to post. I have awakened from my 2 year slumber of Yelping for this experience. This review is for their Service ONLY. My friend and I came here after the Giants parade for a bite to eat. The line was out the door but was moving quickly. Their menu looked deeeelicious. We ordered in and sat at the booth in front of the window. We waited patiently... At first. They kept calling numbers steadily so we thought our order would be coming soon. 30 minutes and two inquiries about our order later, they served EVERYONE else who ordered AFTER us!!! I've worked in restaurants and understand to go orders have somewhat a priority, but that doesn't mean that you serve the ENTIRE line while your dine in patrons are treated like low class peasants. Learn how to space them out! We demanded a full refund and stormed out. The line cook/ owner didn't even bother to come apologize or even attempt to do anything to keep our business.

Why it took me so long to write a review escapes me. I LOVE this place! I lived across the street for several years and frequented this place the entire time. My friends and family always loved to grab breakfast and lunch here while visiting. It's the typical greasy spoon type establishment but with healthy options and fresh food choices. Whether you are in the mood for eggs/fresh donuts, or even a nice flavorful burger, this place has it! Go for the Sriracha Burger!
(4)Pattie A.
Wasn't busy at all when we got there - Maybe two people - Cashier was very nice - there was three of us - took a really long time for order to come out and when it did my burger and bun was burnt and my friends sweet potato fries were ICE cold. I suffered through and ate my burger because it got really busy. But we did ask for recook on the fries. I would try the place again and ask for med. cook on the burger - even though i was not asked how I wanted my burger cooked.
(2)Chrissy H.
Cute little corner joint. Friendly staff. Small selection of baked goods/pastries. Good menu for breakfast. Wasn't TOO impressed with the hasbrowns but the breakfast sandwich on (THICK!) sliced sourdough was to die for! Could only eat half. Fresh avocados, perfectly melted pepper-jack cheese. And the selection of brewed coffees made it nice to try a variety of flavors! Kind of awkward not being a regular....standing to read the menu, then order at the counter, then they bring your food to you.

I got here shortly before noon, and I am glad I did, because once it hits the lunch hour, this place gets packed, and there aren't more than a half a dozen tables to sit at. I ordered the Lucifer burger, which is essentially a bacon-cheese burger with a donut used as the bun! It was a tad novel, and pretty messy to eat. The donut doesn't hold up as well as a "normal" bun. It was a pretty generous-sized burger. It was a tad overcooked for my liking, I probably should have asked for medium rare. Overall, it was quite an experience, but I am more inclined to try some of the other interesting looking burgers on the menu now that I've gotten the novelty of the "donut burger" out of my system. Bottom line: you've got to try the Lucifer if you've never had a "donut burger" before. I upgraded my fries to sweet potato fries for an extra $1.50. The "side" of SP fries could feed a small family. Very generous proportion, and also very delicious and fresh tasting! The interior of this burger joint is small, but eclectic. The owners must have a pretty funny sense of humor, you get a "free high five" when you check-in on yelp, there was a rubber hand (which scared me at first) on the stair rail leading to the bathroom upstairs, and my order table-number-placard thingy said "You are always #1" while my friend's said "# 'less than sign' 3." (apparently I'm not allowed to use the less than sign in a yelp review?!...no love for the emoticon hearts, Yelp!) Overall, a tasty place to grab brunch or lunch! I'll be back to try some of the other burgers, sandwiches, and breakfast fare!

Love Little Griddle. The folks who work there can be a little hipster, poser-ish, but the food is delicious. I usually go the same route with the Traditional American (a cheeseburger) and I'm rarely disappointed. They cook burgers exacter like I like them, i.e., medium. My only complaint are those soggy a** french fries. I "get it" that they're free, but come on, folks, you can cook them a little longer. You can also get Sweet Potato fries, but, alas, those are soggy as well. What I've tasted so far (in addition to the Traditional American) is the: Californication - Too much going on, but I'm a traditional burger gal Bacon Chzburgah! - What can I say but...bacon. Delicious! Hot Mess - This says it all, but it's more of a "drunk burger" meaning you should get it after being at a club all night --if they were still open. Their service has gotten a lot better. I remember going in a few months after they were open and the staff were so busy dancing to some banal electronic hipster b.s. that they failed to notice they had customers. (Um, sorry to break up you little MDMA soiree, but you ARE at work.) Big secret, ORDER YOUR FOOD BY TELEPHONE AND PICK IT UP, otherwise, you'll
(4)Heather R.
Get the Lucifer! You know you want to, get it! It won't kill you (at least not today).
(4)J W.
Food was excellent as was the service. Sandwich components were properly portioned and delivery was quick. Staff was knowledgeable and eager to help. Seating area is small and fills up quickly during lunch rush. So get here early or pre-order to go.

I've frequented this place a few times before work and finally decided to write a review. I've only had burgers and fries here and not any breakfast foods yet. Food: I recently just had the Brunch burger which is topped with apple bacon, a fried egg, and their Niman Ranch beef. I thought the burger was cooked perfectly (I like my meat medium rare). Along with the burger I had the sweet potato fries. *Note* you have to pay $1.50 extra for the sweet potato fries but I think they are absolutely worth it. Although the beef on the burger was cooked nicely I thought the bread was a little bit on the dry side. Ambience: It can get pretty crowded but never a long wait. I really enjoy cafe atmosphere however, I think some of the tables are too close to each other. Otherwise, its a very cute little breakfast/brunch spot. Service: Service was nothing spectacular but I did have a friendly conversation with the cashier. He might have scared some people off with his nails though but I didn't mind. Transportation: Right at the corner of Market & Fell, 2 blocks from Civic Center Bart Station. Very accessible via public transportation but parking is and will always be difficult.
(4)Stephen F.
Decent food and good prices. My only complaint is the place is a bit small, so you'll be hearing everyone else's conversations. Also the bathroom is weird.
(4)Sam Z.
I've been here twice. Both times I had some kind of egg and cheese sandwich. It's one of the only restaurants in the area, not too expensive, service is friendly and the atmosphere is cozy.
(3)Maria C.
Everything was amazingly delish!! The atmosphere is quaint, although I did not try their donuts they looked amazing! I cannot wait to come here again!!!
(5)Bryce A.
Great brunch place that is semi under the radar. Everything here is very tasty! Go for anything breakfast, you will not be disappointed! -Fresh squeezed OJ & free refills on coffee!
(4)Jennie T.
Amazing food and service, even a simple cheeseburger is a tasty food masterpiece. Sweet potato fries are FLIPPIN AWESOME! Not to mention the staff is great, the owner also owns Mavelous right next door. Both places are top notch and bring great atmosphere and food to the mid-market neighborhood!
(5)Sara P.
Little Griddle is a pretty awesome place to go Saturday/Sunday mornings after a night out ;) They have a good selection of bagels and pastries and also a full breakfast menu. I love that almond milk is an option for drinks. AND they have pastrami. (this makes me extremely happy) Be sure to use the check in offer!
(4)Rock M.
Little Griddle is a rad neighborhood gem. Their coffee is strong and hot, their sandwiches are super fresh, filling, and tasty. And their service is always delightful. The salads are yummy and come in a vast array of combinations. But of course, to truly get the best of LG, you want to eat their burgers and traditional breakfasts. In other words, something to meet every possible food desire that could pop up on a typical workday. Now, go eat!
(4)Johnny W.
I'm rarely (actually, never) in this area this early in the morning, but, needing to drop off my Honda for a firmware upgrade nearby at 9am, I was far too hungry to wait until I got home to eat. Using it as an opportunity to explore breakfast options, I dropped by Little Griddle, to be greeted by a small-ish cafe with lots of windows and lots of sunshine in the early morning hours, friendly staff, and not much of a view (unless you enjoy staring out at the Civic Center/TL type, anyway). Going with some traditional American breakfast eats, I ended up ordering some pancakes, bacon, and eggs. And, while everything was pretty good, nothing was particularly outstanding - much of this is probably due to how simple everything I ordered was. Next time I'm in this area, I'll have to try something a bit more interesting: a burger, perhaps?
(3)Rebecca H.
It was ok. The food was good, albeit pricey. The guy with the shaved eyebrows and fake 3 inch lavender nails freaked me out, I didn't want his nails in my food, and he was really pissy when we reminded him the side of eggs were for a separate plate, since it was all I ordered. The bathroom is upstairs, it's not easily accessible to those with mobility issues. Parking around there is bitch.
(3)C S.
We live nearby and used to order their take-out regularly. Twice in a row now they've forgotten part of our order. We order the same thing every time and they seem to consistently forget the same part. What is worse is they refused to refund us for the missed portion over the phone. You have to go back to get your refund. It is also stupid that they post a fake yelp "deal" in a cheesy and cheap way to lure customers. A free high five? Lame much? We won't be ordering from here ever again!
(1)Dodi G.
Visited this place for late brunch a couple weekends ago. We were in an unfamiliar area of town, looking for a place to eat, and Little Griddle was very recommended on Yelp. Now, I know why! The place is not only cute and homy, it has delicious food and very good coffee. I ordered some kind of French cinnamon toast, and it was amazing. They also serve pretty good hamburgers from what I've gathered. I did not try the lunch menu because everyone knows I am a sucker for brunch, especially on a Saturday. But they definitely have a wide selection of options that can fit anyone's taste. The ambience is adorable, as I was saying. I cannot get over the things they use to mark your order; each of them has a different symbol or letter, and makes it much more interesting than just taking a number back and placing it on your table. I also liked the fact that you order and then take a seat, it makes it easier for the to-go orders, more time to decide if you do not know what you want, and also results in less math in the end if you are with a group of friends. I find that this place had very reasonable prices considering the deliciousness and quality of the food.
(5)Aiko S.
Fave new greasy spoon.
(4)John M.
All hail, Lucifer! What Little Griddle gets absolutely perfect about the Lucifer Burger (donut bun, bacon, meat, cheese) is that it's far from one of those carnival "fried butter" creations that sound tasty but disgusting but tasty and you're only a few bites in before you just feel it bloating your stomach and closing your arteries. I write this for those reviewers who "fear" Lucifer. Do not fear Lucifer, Lucifer will lead you to salvation! The donut bun tastes like really soft, sweet, airy bread - it just sort of floats around the meat until you decide to take a bite, at which point the sweetness encases the savory burger juices and salt from the bacon and sings to your mouth, "This is the gift of knowledge, bestowed unto you!"
(5)Kal A.
gave it another shot, this time for dinner. food was even more underwhelming. stale (old) fries. burger was okay, but nothing special at all.
(2)Jennifer W.
I absolutely positively love this joint. It's got everything I need. I've tried the Lucifer (a glazed donut split in two as the buns with applewood smoked bacon) and Lost in Sri Racha (grilled pineapples and peppers with spicy sauce). The donut burger was actually not as nasty as it sounds, but was actually real tasty. There are a few burgers on the menu with grilled pineapples and grilled crimini mushrooms. There are also a few burgers on the menu that have crumbled blue cheese on it. Sometimes, the butter lettuce, tomato, red onion, and pickles come on the side because it can't fit into the burger. It's like a side salad in fact and the burger tastes just as great without them inside of it. Plus, when it's on the side, there seems to be more. I remember getting a load of sliced tomatoes and pickles. The pickles don't have much pickle flavor, but whatever. Everything is fresh. I saw the guy upstairs forming the ground beef patties from hand. That's what all the slapping sounds are. Every burger comes with a mountain of steak cut fries. You can sub in sweet potato fries. There are also breakfast entrees, which comes with a mountain of hashbrowns instead. The hash is even better than fries. Even though it's a breakfast item, the Monday Revival is good for lunch too. They serve Zoka coffee, which is roasted in Washington. I like it and would buy some bags of it in the future. The teabags they use are Two Leaves and a Bud. The chai is David Rio maybe, I forget. The chai tea latte was super, duper sweet. The horchata was sweet too, but powdery. They also have fountain drinks and lemonade. They serve Spot Bagels, each of which are named as if it was a beer. The donuts are heavenly. This is my go to place for donuts. They are $1.25 each. I love all the compostable cutlery and packaging. I love that there's an ice chest by the self-serve water. I love the whole homey kitchen theme. Sure, the wait is a bit longer, but I like the quality of the food here. I like the somewhat open kitchen and knowing that they are working on my order. The staff is friendly and familiar, very on point. The prices are higher too, but sizes are big. It's so, so worth it.
(5)Peter C.
This is a cozy, casual place that makes delicious hamburgers and omelets. I usually order the A+ Student omelet with munster. Their burgers are delicious too with french fries. The place is neatly organized, clean feeling, and has everything you could want. Service staff is cordial and welcoming. My only gripe is the price - its $9.80 for the A+ Student omelet that I mentioned above. Hamburgers are around the same price too. That's pretty expensive, about the same price I would pay at Max's. I understand there's high rent and wages/healthcare to pay, but that's pretty expensive.
(3)Nelson H.
Breakfast sammies from here are out of this world! I got mine to go, and to my surprise when I returned to work and opened the box, there was a mountain of hash browns! Definitely coming back for some more.
(5)Maria P.
Best hobo-hash ever!!! It was hearty and flavorful. The coffee was also veru delicious. Only downside? You have to order up front...so if you wanted to be filly served for those lazy days...this might not be the place. But the food tho, totally worth getting up for lol
(5)Stephen Y.
Genius! Donut + meat patty + bacon + cheddar cheese = Gloriousness! The Lucifer, so aptly named, is the little devil in Heaven. You know it's sooo bad for you, but yet it's sooo good! My coworkers and I went there at 11:30am on a Tuesday for a late breakfast/early lunch. Yes! We beat the lunch rush. By 12pm there was a line 10 deep! Other dishes of note, the smothered hash brown - hash brown covered with melted cheese, sour cream, whole avocado with a side of eggs! YUM! Quick tip: Breakfast service stops from 12-2pm. So if you're craving hash or eggs, go before 12pm! ....heck go before 12pm anyways, just to beat the crowds!
(4)Ann T.
FINALLY!! somewhere dericious to eat around the office during lunchtime! the seating is only limited to a couple tables. but like most people who work in this area, they'll just order and take it back to the office. i got myself a simple burger with tomato, lettuce, tillamook cheddar, mayo, and their special sauce. this burger was cooked to perfection and you could taste the freshness of all the contents stuffed between the two lightly toasted buns. it even comes with a side of fries. the fries were also so nommy!!! to wash it all down, i ordered some oj. fresh squeezed with just enough pulp. mMm... i'm excited to go back to try the breakfast! they'll also be offering spot bagels in the near future. for now, the squared shaped pillows called donuts is what they have for a quick grab in the morning.
(5)Gigi C.
The food was pretty good. But, they must have a really little griddle, cause the wait is outragously long!! Don't try to do this when you are hungry or need to meet up with anyone after. The hamburger looked better than breakfast, but the breakfast was OK. The place is really small, so seats are hard to come by. However, since the wait is Oh-Soooo_long, there is bound to be an empty table by time you get your food. It took us n 45 minutes - 1 hour to get our breakfast (it was lunchtime by then)
(3)E E.
Tonight was a horrible experience. Since I live in the Argenta nearby, good eateries are not very plentiful in the neighborhood. Based on the Yelp reviews I thought I would give them a shot. Stood there for over 30 minutes waiting for a take out order. There was ONLY one table of six and that was about it in the place (that should have been an indication right there) and the person preparing the meals could only cook one ticket at a time. I just gave up and asked for money back. It didn't seem to phase them. The place also was dirty and they don't post their health department score....... Doesn't take much to figure out that one. Hopefully, the mid-market will get other/better options sooner vs. later. Maybe it will make them try a little harder to keep or even take care of their customers.
(1)Catalina C.
Their burgers are made with quality beef patties, pancakes are always moist and fluffy, Italian soda flavorful and they serve Stumptown coffee. I do have to say that I'm not a fan of their potatoes - hashbrowns or French fries - because they're so bland...like they're an after thought. My husband and I usually share a burger with yam fries, which makes for a filling lunch.
(4)Dorothy L.
Burgers are great. Be sure to pay for an upgrade and get sweet potato fries. If you're feeling more healthy, the veggie scramble is delish.
(5)Cori W.
Stay clear of the chai, its made from a very sweet powder blend :/ --------------------------------------------------Â-------------------- The house made veggie burger is fantastic! The patty had good texture and flavor, with the inside being soft but not mushy, filled with beans, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, and spices. They did a good job of crisping up the outside and the patty is larger than meat options (flat but thinner)! The burger overall was a huge hit. The bun was perfect, the cheese melty and plenty of it, with fresh lettuce and thinly sliced pickles. The 'secret sauce' is a mayo+ketchup concoction. This burger almost reminded me of In & Out but a lot less greasy, more fresh way. Its probably the soft bun+melty cheese+sauce combo. The fries that came with the burger were also great. They weren't salty enough but luckily they came out pipping hot so we had time to salt it up. While they are a little thicker they are still crispy with soft insides. Up next I want to get my hands on one of the burgers with the sriracha aioli. Keep the veggie burger on the DL, it's a secret! A delicious, tasty secret.
(3)Emily D.
I don't have any weird cat story or self deprecating humor in this one, I promise. I really do just love Little Griddle. I went back today for a turkey burger. I'm a little hesitant of turkey burgers that I don't cook myself, but the seasoning on the patty was awesome. The pepper jack cheese was soft and spicy, the little griddle sauce was absurd, and I swear to God if you cover those fries in that sauce and top it with that cheese, I will cry tears of joy. Oh and the fries?? YEAH. WTH. WOW. Like In n Out but BETTER. Soooo good. I'm insanely happy Little Griddle moved in. Its just the best thing to happen to the neighborhood.
(5)Helen L.
Great breakfast, shared the Bettie which included two sunny side eggs, 6 French toast?, 2 strips of bacon, all for $11.50. It was very satisfying and fuel for the work day ahead. Everything was fresh and service was fast. Why were there all guys going for breakfast, don't they cook? It's kind of great to go in and have a quiet little breakfast without the crowds, unlike lunch time.
(4)Davin A.
*Just a review of the coffee. The food and service is 3.5-4 stars. Ever since they switched to Stumptown they officially make the worst cup of coffee in the neighborhood. It tastes like mudwater. The lattes are pretty disgusting as well. I actually really love Stumptown coffee so I don't know how they could've ruined it.
(1)Ed U.
Gee, they're not kidding about the "little" part, are they? But the irony is that you will likely not leave any smaller after gorging on the burgers here. I knew this was no health spa when I saw trays of donuts on one side and the grill covered with burgers. the inevitable cross-pollination produces a donut burger called the Lucifer which adds strips of bacon for good decadent measure. Funny thing is that I just saw Anthony Bourdain at the Paramount reaming Paula Deen for trying to convince an already obese country how to make her artery-clogging donut burgers. Jamie W. and I came here on a whim last Saturday thinking that this closet of a space could accommodate us easily, but the place was still packed even with office workers absent from the ranks. Legions of tourist families from the nearby hotels dropped in and corralled the few tables in the place. Maximum capacity is 39 in here, so we were lucky to grab two stools at the counter as their skeletal Halloween decorations were dangling in our faces. Jamie went for the $7.95 American Traditional, which had all the ordinary fixings - American cheese, onions, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes. plus their own sauce which reminded me of Jack in the Box's secret sauce (see photo). As usual, I went for the 'shrooms and ordered the $9.25 Pig Funguess, which had grilled criminis, bacon, Tillamook cheese, and a whole lotta mayo, along with the standard accessories (see photo). Both our sloppy wet burgers came with quite a pile of fries, so what's there to complain about? Nothing really. It just didn't send me over the moon like it looked like it was trying to do. It was more Duper than Super if you know what I mean. I also think the confined space coupled with the woefully non-scenic view of Market Street contributed to our overall "meh" feeling about this li'l griddle. FOOD - 3 stars...big burgers with fixings but not altogether satisfying AMBIANCE - 2.5 stars...walk-in closets are bigger SERVICE - 3 stars...nothing special TOTAL - 3 stars...how many pricey burger joints do we need in this city?
(3)Sophia B.
Fun place to grab brunch if you find yourself on Market on the weekend (& don't want to spend an arm & a leg). It's fun, trendy without feeling too ridiculous, and gets you your food quickly. The orders have fun names & has a nice relaxed atmosphere (not to mention all the windows!). Also I made the mistake to not notice what I ordered had cheese (I'm lactose intolerant) and they remade my eggs. So kind! Definitely recommend this spot.
(5)Mike H.
Picked up lunch for myself and three co-workers today from here for the first and last time. if I go back, mine will be the only order. - I got the wrong burger (Bacon Chzbrgah instead of Pig Funguess) - The bacon wasn't cooked well, with lots of rubbery fat (rushed or griddle too hot) - The regular and sweet potato fries were slightly undercooked - Offered a 10 cent bag only when the food was ready 10 min later Yup, 10 cents more on top of a $47 order...and a $5 tip. I hate having to tip before the food comes out. Should I expect that from a four-person to-go order? Maybe not. Is it understandable though? Sure, dropping in a four-top order during a lunch rush can't be easy. Everything else holds - fresh toppings, griddled bun, huge orders of fries.
(3)Leo C.
Best breakfast in town. Crazy menu, ended up choosing A+ student. Best breakfast ive had in san francisco
(5)Michelle S.
What a surprise this place was! And to think, we almost left. There was a line just to the door but no place to sit so we almost decided to leave. Just as we were thinking of turning around, a couple stools freed up so I grabbed them while my partner waited in line. It seemed like that was the thing to do. Before we even ended up getting our food, a table (a couple actually) freed up as well so we moved. So don't let the line scare you! You have to eat here! I got the Instant Grati-vacation burger and my partner got an omelet with bacon, cheddar and mushrooms. My burger was incredible. There was so much swiss cheese that it was awesome, not to mention the mounds of sautéed onions and mushrooms. Wow, did I love that burger. The fresh cut fries were good and very plentiful. I had a whole order still left on my plate (but none of the burger, mind you). My partner's omelet was equally tasty. I would definitely go back to Little Griddle when in the city again.
(5)Jennifer N.
I will confess, unlike my regular dining companion, I am not a huge breakfast person. Give me something sweet - a muffin, a scone - and a glass of water, and I can roll until lunch. But on a morning when breakfast was required, we sought out Little Griddle. Here, they take something so simple and make it heavenly: a garlic bagel loaded with spinach, mushrooms, and pepper jack, served with a side of homefries (they call it Monday Revival. I call it the perfect breakfast). And get a donut while you're at it! (One of the reviews here says cash only, but they do accept cards)
(5)Cory N.
The best burger and service you'll find on Market St! Ordered the Evil Knievel that came with a double patty and drizzling cheese with veggies. The monster was so juicy I had to go grab myself a fat stack of napkins to seem civilized. The extra two dollar charge for sweet potato fries complete the meal, but my stomach couldn't hold too many of them after devouring Mr. Knievel. They offer a wide selection of sauces of which many were spicy. The staff brings your food straight to your table if you dine in, and their numbered placards are noticeably punny. If you do go for the full meal and can't finish it, you can help yourself to the togo containers and revisit your meal later in the day. The place has plenty of outside seating. I wouldn't worry too much about any of the street loiterers bothering you during your meal -- the staff did a stern and professional job of preventing any pestering of their customers. I was very impressed, and would definitely bring a friend there if they chose to visit the greatest city in California. Note: Their bathroom upstairs is preceded by a stairway of interesting photos. I thought it was a nice touch.
(5)Sally C.
All I can say is that if you come here... don't order a measly sandwich with your pathetic bag of chips while you hungrily look over at the customer next to you with their giant juicy burger and thick cut fries. Note to self: stop trying to be "healthy".

There are few reason why I am giving such a low review. It's not really about the food quality. The burger itself wasn't amazing but still decent. First, we really intended to get the Lucifer. My friend was ahead of me and said "Can I get a Lucifer burger"? The guy straight up said "No". *Few second pause to see if he was kidding or being sarcastic*. NO response. Then he says after we look super confused and are holding up the line, "We are out of doughnuts." Ok then... and the more she ordered with him, the "pissier he got". He snapped at my friend twice for no reason at all. Then while we were waiting for our food, two of us (who ordered with the girl) got our food promptly. My other friend's food (who ordered with the guy) took an extra 15 minutes to come out. The guy in charge of cleaning and helping the tables was much nicer and more helpful in tracking down her meal and drink. Another big reason why I am giving this a low review is that we saw moldy bread. My friend went to the bathroom (which is located past the kitchen) and while waiting, saw these huge stacks of bread on top of the three compartment sink. Then she saw the bottom and saw the moldy bread underneath/touching the other layer of bread above it. That's a little gross... if we had seen that before the meal, we would have definitely passed.

This place has pretty good reviews and is very central so decided to go with some friends visiting from out of down. Overall was disappointed with the quality of their food - the sausages were a bit weird and the omelet pretty bland. To boot you're in mid-market on a Saturday morning which is just kind of depressing.
(3)Melinda C.
Everything is absolutely delicious. I have been here six or seven times and I keep going back. The sandwiches are great, creative, and tasty combinations and you can swap in a really tasty veggie patty on any of them, which I always do. Veggie patty substitutions at restaurants are hit or miss---here they are definitely a hit.
(5)Alf O.
Awesome Reuben sandwich. Awesome free high five.
(4)Dan P.
Makes more sense now in this whole mid-market explosion with other pricier eats in the area. The staff here seems nicer these days too. Bumping up the rating.
(4)Petter B.
Had the Reuben with a salad and I think it was ok. The pastrami was a bit to chewy so didn't feel very fresh other then that it was a good Reuben but the pastrami is one of the two key components of a Reuben so when that's is not good the dish can't be better then ok

Little Griddle is a quaint space that serves up morning/brunch/lunch grub; french toast, griddle cakes, omelets, scrambles, burgers, blah, blah blahhh... Let's be real. Came here for the mothaf***n donut burger! Niman ranch beef. Apple smoked BACON. American cheese cuz b*tch we ain't in Canada, on a square donut bun. These burgers are typically called Luther burgers, for Luther Vandross (RIP) but here they're called Lucifer burgers and they're devilishly good. Sweet, salty, savory, beefy, juicy, fatty. It was an out of body experience since I couldn't feel either hand after, just my heart palpitating. In the Weird News section of the Mercury News they talk about the NYC state fair having a 1,500 calorie donut burger. Little did they know, they could of just made a 45 min drive up 101 to get the same thing here. For being on Market St, it's super clean inside and I was pleasantly surprised on the contemporary country design. Manscapers need not apply since this burger is MAN FOOD. Love this place! Breakfast sammie almost every morning, bacon - egg - cheese and bottomless coffee. Service is awesome!!
(5)D R.
Just found this spot walking distance from my job. EXCELLENT FOOD!!!! ANNNNND they serve beer!!!! I got the Cowboy Salad which was AWESOME!!! The menu said "bacon bits" on the salad to my surprise was FRESH bacon chopped in a separate Togo container!!! My new spot for lunch M-F. Oh yeah... Service is top notch... Canada had my order ready promptly with a smile! Can't wait to try the rest of the menu!!!
(5)Clarissa M.
This place gets three stars only because there's limited space/seating. Definitely not a good place to go to on the weekend unless you're alone or getting it to-go which totally messes up the whole point of nice weekend breakfast. Anyway, the food here is real yummy and I was definitely satisfied. Been here twice already just because eventually I want to have tried everything on their menu. But yeah, as far as food goes...they know what they're doing. SO YUMMY! Just make sure you plan ahead on coming here if you have a group with you because of the space...or just call ahead and maybe they'll do a reservation but I know they normally do NOT do reservations.

A bagel should not be this good. When I lived near Civic Center, I would crave (and subsequently purchase) Little Griddle's bagel sandwich at least once a week. They were open weekends and the process of ordering and devouring was too easy not to go. Walk in, look at the menu on the wall, or grab a menu off the counter. Order for there or order to go - and then leave totally, completely content. My order: wheat bagel, with turkey (which is glazed and delicious), egg, and melted swiss cheese = $6.50. Seriously heavenly, seriously filling. I ask them to cut it in half for me, so the mass of deliciousness is manageable. If you decide to eat there, the space is pretty small (I wouldn't come with a big crowd) and the neighborhood is kind of sketchy (though I think this space on Market is up and coming). But besides all this, Little Griddle pretty much wins when it comes to quick and yummy breakfast joints.

THE BEST (BURGER) LUNCH OPTION IN CIVIC CENTER AREA THUS FAR... Ok, so those of you who work in the Civic Center Area know that there are very limited options for lunch. I'm sorry, McD's and Subway aren't going to cut it; neither is Iron Wok (a restaurant that serves both Chinese food and sushi is just wrong on so many levels). Have no fear because the same owners as Cafico, Lunch Geek (now inside Cafico), Happy Donuts and Ma'velous (Coffee & Wine Bar) have opened Little Griddle all within the same block. Serving American Breakfast Items (Griddle Cakes, Omelets, Scrambles, French Toast and Sammies) and 15 Burger Specialties, Little Griddle is a saving grace for those who work in the capital of no-where lunch land. Today, 7.15.11, my co-worker and I came to Little Griddle for lunch at 11:35 AM. When we arrived, there was already a line. Little Griddle is a SMALL joint (sits ~20), so if you want a place to sit and enjoy your food, come during non-peak lunch hours. Even though there was a short line, I was able to order and get my food within 10 minutes. CC's accepted. Despite it being located in a dingy area, Little Griddle's ambiance is flawlessly clean and as cute as can be with an open kitchen and pantry-like décor with rustic woods, wall racks with utensils, and an old rotary phone. LUNCH MENU: Build-Your-Own-Burger: yelp.com/biz_photos/qjUC… Specialty Burgers: yelp.com/biz_photos/qjUC… Sides: yelp.com/biz_photos/qjUC… MY ORDER: HOT MESS BURGER w/ Pepperjack Cheese, Grilled Peppers & Onions, Chipotle Sauce ($8.75) w/ Bacon ($1.50) and Sweet Potato Fries (+$1.50) - 4 STARS! yelp.com/biz_photos/qjUC… Being a carniwhore, I LOVE burgers and I can say without a doubt that Little Griddle's Hot Mess Burger definitely HIT THE SPOT! Nestled between the toasted potato bun was a thick, juicy beef patty with an avalanche of melted oeeey goeeey pepperjack cheese, grilled green bell peppers and onions and a gentle smearing of chipotle sauce. The addition of bacon was a good choice as the bacon were thick slices of Applewood bacon. Although the beef patty was well-down, the quality of the Niman Ranch beef evident as it still was very tender with a rich beefy flavor. The compilation of the beef, cheese, grilled veggies, bacon and chipotle sauce created a BURST of salty, savory, creamy, sweet and smoky flavors with a fiery kick in my mouth! Each bite was so deliciously savory and mouth-watering that it made me "want" to inhale my entire burger although I was thoroughly stuffed. #FAIL The sweet potato fries were crisp with a subtle sweetness but would have been better if they were hot as opposed to being room temperature. I'm not a fan of Cafico and have encountered some hit and misses with Lunch Geek but I have to say, Little Griddle surpassed my expectations! The Hot Mess Burger rivals some of the best burgers in the city, albeit a bit pricey for the area. I'll be back for that Lucifer (Donut Burger) among many more items. To the current Foursquare of Little Griddle, prepare to be ousted! J/k!
(4)Chris M.
Decent food, in a conveinent spot for downtown but service could use a check. After patiently waiting to order my food the cashier was quite rude. Food was a bit pricey for the enviornment and I also was harrased by homeless people.
(3)Rebecca K.
I had the French toast and a pumpkin muffin and my husband had pancakes, eggs and bacon and a cinnamon swirl pastry. Husband said it was what you would expect. My French toast was very well made. It was a bit pricey for what you get tho. The French toast was 8 bucks and only the toast. There wasn't any extras like a little added fruit. Sometimes places will add a strawberry for a garnish.

Wow. What a great "little" dive! (And I mean that in the best sense of the word.) I had breakfast at Little Griddle on Sunday and it was very good. I had the Ultimate Hash Browns and was not disappointed (any meal that highlights potatoes is jake with me, Jake). With three different cheeses and avocado on this, it really worked for me. Two other major pluses for Little Griddle: 1) they have a great selection of condimentary supplementation from which to choose ~ Tabasco® Brand Pepper Sauce (the original red); Cholula® Hot Sauce (Original); TapatÃo®; Frank's® RedHot® (Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce); and two types of El Yucateco® (Salsa Picante Roja de Chile Habanero and XXXtra Hot Sauce Salsa Kutbil-ik® de Chile Habanero), and 2) they offer great coffee, Stumptown Coffee Roasters (out of Portland, OR) ~ and you can choose from 4-5 different blends/roasts (I highly recommend the Ethiopia Mordecofe Reserve). If you would like to read a more detailed review of my meal there, just click on my profile here and check out my stupid li'l 'blog-thingy.

The Little Griddle is most certainly a diamond in the rough. At least, that's how we feel about it. It's located across the street from our condo, so it's really convenient, and although it's small, we don't have much problem getting a table. It has paleo-ish friendly options, which are a must for us. It's also nice to watch the street cars go by on Market St. The staff is always courteous and more than willing to go the extra mile. Highly recommend this place.
(5)Michelle F.
Great healthy food. Good service. Small place & does get crowded. When we went their were 2 guys in separate tables on the computer no food, no drink just taking space.
(4)K F.
Some of the best affordable burgers in SF! Try the Mount Tam burger, you won't regret it!
(5)Michelle T.
We come here every time we come to San Francisco for a nice breakfast. We're always the first people to breakfast due to the time change so there are no lines, however I hear that it gets really crowded. Everything here is delicious, but it is not cheap. It's a nice walk from the financial district where we stayed but worth the walk. The portions are big and there's a lot of potatoes. I never eat potatoes, but ate it here. It was so fresh.
(4)Priscilla C.
Excellent, excellent, excellent! The ultimate hash brown is delicious... Everything bagel tasted fresh, and homemade. Banana pancakes are to die for! French toast is awesome! Little griddle is the perfect breakfast, brunch...coffee is made to perfection! Definitely try it out and it will soon become your favorite place!
(5)Jackie T.
Really good breakfast place. Their coffee drinks are amazing! The breakfast platters are pretty good and come in large portions which makes the prices reasonable. They have a good selection of pancakes (aka griddles), omelettes, and breakfast sandwiches. The donuts looked so good too I almost wanted to order some with my breakfast but that would've been way too much food. Only thing is this place is pretty small and gets packed like crazy so plan ahead. I got lucky and managed to get in between the rushes.
(4)Nina M.
I love brunch! I have been walking past this cute little place for months so I decided I needed to finally try it. My boyfriend and I came during October so the place was decorated for halloween - nice touch! We ordered our food and sat at a table, it was easy to grab one around 11 but by noon the place had a huge line out the door. I ordered the strawberry-banana pancakes, which looked delicious. Sadly, to my disappointment, they were practically inedible. They had so much BAKING SODA that they tasted BITTER. I should have sent them back but I did not want to ruin our anniversary brunch so I just kept my mouth shut. I am hoping that was a one-time fluke and perhaps I will give Little Griddle another chance. After all, my bf's omellet was good.

BORING BURGER - More like one of the best burgers I've had in SF. -SF Native
(5)Jonathan S.
Burger was the most juicy and delicious I've had in a long time. Whole bottom bun was wet from burger juice and delicious!! Seating was quite limited, but we did get a spot. I wanted to order the Lucifer donut burger but they didn't have any donuts. I got the evil kenival instead and it was amazing. Fries were pretty good too. Price was alright. $11.50 I think, but it was like a full pound of beef and came with fries. I would definitely recommend it and go back.

Little Griddle is a corner eatery on market street serving heaping servings of breakfast at above average pricing. eats:(lucifer burger) -niman ranch hamburger with americn cheese bacon, on krispy kreme sugar donut. (8.5) -ordered med. rare though the stated policy is medium well. burger was juicy, reddish but not that tasty. saw amigo making fresh burger patties.upstars. -heaping hash browns accompanied the burger. a bit burnt on the edges. overcooked -interesting burger, 3.5 stars, not wowed drink: coffee (2ixh) zoka coffee (ballard, washinton) -6 thermos offered, med and dark roast -try 2, though touted as having caramel, chocolate and other notes, i didn't taste it. -overall both brew smooth, tangletown (med) smoother, fritzo(?) dark roast was bolder, on the edge of harshness. crumbs: -order at counter, food brought to table. -friendly, informative service -kudos to rodney h. and jennifer c.p. for the headsup on the lucifer burger. (the donut was the hit, burger was passable).. -seaing 50ish. mornings seatings fills up fast.

This place was awesome! Burgers are HUGE! The French fries ARE AWESOME! The people are friendly as well. The table are a bit close but it gives you the home like feeling. Also, the bathroom is upstairs but you can tell that all of their stuff is fresh!!! We came on a Thursday night around 6:45 and got our food really quickly! Overall, my experience was awesome! You won't regret it!

Pros: maintains the funky cool west coast diner vibe that goes back (for me) all the way to the Pork Store Cafe (Haight) and Smokey Joes (Berkeley) in the early 80's. Burger is completely excellent, and the 'house' coffee exactly what you want. Cons: don't veer too far from the burgers & omelettes. It is popular with folks who like funky cool west coast diner, and today that means the 'mid marketeer hipster', so if you are anti google bus crowd, you might feel an extra dollop of bile.

I heard great things about this place so I decided to try it for breakfast this morning , I waited at the counter for 5 minutes and was never greeted nor acknowledged so I left. When I got to work my coworkers were all surprised and gave the place rave reviews so I decided to try it for lunch bad idea! I ordered a sandwich and specifically asked for no mayonnaise and although they repeated back the order correctly, when I got to work there was mayonnaise on my sandwich! So I said hey mistakes happen so I took the sandwich back an explained the mistake to them and they apologized and made me a new sandwich. So you can imagine my surprise when I got to work and there was still mayonnaise on my sandwich. So I returned the sandwich and this time asked for my money back, there was no apology made, no attempt to make it right and to make things worse, I was refunded the incorrect amount! With customer service like this, the food must be really amazing, but for me I prefer to spend my money where I am valued as a customer. And they made it crystal clear this is not that kind of place.
(1)M. N.
Don't judge this pace without stepping inside. I just moved to the city and I'm glad I took the courage to try this place this morning! Although I didn't try their hamburgers I did try their croissant with egg white and cheese and it was absolutely amazing! Definitely coming back for some more. Would love to try their doughnuts and burgers next.
(4)Reichelle C.
I love this place! Definitely one of my favorite breakfast spot. I love the ambiance and the food is always delicious! They serve breakfast all day on Sundays so that's when we come here.. French toasts and pancakes are a must try! Their doughnuts are square and oh so yummy!! Also, the employees always provide great customer service.

Nothing on the menu matters. No amount of bottomless coffee refills. No convenience, no breakfasts, no hamburgers, no nothing. That's because Little Griddle is a pigsty. The tables are filthy. I stood in line and watched the server taking tableware out of a coffee can, rejecting every other one because it hadn't been washed properly. I stood in line and looked at two tables un-bussed, not touched by a cleaner. I looked at the streaky, stained windows. I left and sought lunch elsewhere. I wouldn't risk eating there on a bet.
(1)John H.
My 'hot mess' burger was cooked well done. With its juices cooked out, it was more of a dry puck than a burger. The green bell pepper strips topping it was pretty raw and it made for an unappealing onion/green bell pepper/melted cheese slaw. I can see if these were all cooked through, it could be a great cheese steak like topping. It's not what I received. This place is tiny and slim chance of getting a table/seat during lunch. You get your food and am forced to eat it on the street at Van Ness and Market, not an appealing thought.
(2)A P.
They didn't have the mock tuna fish sandwich on their menu which was a disappointment. Instead I got the veggie burger (which any regular burger can be substituted for) and it turned out to be a great choice anyway. But very filling as it was a huge sandwich.

Hipsters and Marina yuppies aren't the only annoying twentysomethings in San Francisco anymore. Nope, we've got a whole new breed of know-everything-except-anything-useful, ugly-in-a-beautiful-way young creatures roaming our streets, and they don't have a name yet. Some people will call them techies, but I know techies, and they're too diverse a group to pigeonhole--or maybe I should say that the particular people I'm currently trashing are too homogenous to be techies. Maybe they're a subset of techies. I'll call them Mid-Marketers for the sake of convenience. Here's what they do: They move to San Francisco with mom and dad's money. They pay ridiculous prices for tiny little apartments that were just built (literally) just for them (literally). They make all kinds of money doing God knows what, so even when mom and dad's money runs out, they make more than enough to cover the rent. And if they don't make more than enough, well, they're moving back to Newbury Park or Kirkland or Naperville in a couple years anyway, so who cares if they leave astronomical rents, gentrification, and the rubble of what was once a truly creative, free-spirited city in their precious little wakes? Little Griddle. The food is good--when you finally get to eat it. You'll wait a long time for this food, however, because the Mid-Marketers are sitting together in their massive groups, taking up all the tiny tables in the place. They're talking to one another and over one another, but none of them are paying attention, because they're all fascinated by all the other people they know (and don't know; thanks, Twitter) who aren't physically there. That's a complicated way of saying what the hell is the point of eating lunch in a largish (for this place) group of six if you're going to spend the entire time looking at your phone? Why don't you just eat at your desk if you're not going to look at the people around you? Why ever leave your apartment? Just watch movies on your phone, have sex on your phone, call a "cab" on your phone, raise children on your phone, ask Mom for money on your phone, realize you don't actually know how to exist without a phone on your phone, and plan your funeral on your phone. The food is good. If you're coming for lunch, show up around 1:15ish. And try not to pay attention to the inane conversation. That's what really galls me about the Mid-Marketers: Although they're not paying attention to one another, I'm paying attention to all of them (because I am actually aware of my surroundings, don't make it a habit to tune out the physical world, and care about human interaction and manners and being polite and all that ridiculous stuff that it's hard to learn by looking at your phone); so I get annoyed by the stupid things they say. And then they just run with whatever anyone says. Below is a snippet of the real-life conversation I heard last time I was here. Mind you, none of these people were drunk. Someone was saying that the first episode of Saturday Night Live aired in 1999, "yeah, like right after Y2K, whatever the fuck that was." "Was that when Gwyneth Paltrow was on it?" "She wasn't on SNL. She got famous doing Maybelline commercials. And then she was, like, married to Sean Penn." "That was Lady Gaga." "No, it was Gwyneth Paltrow." "I think you're thinking of Paris Hilton. Before the Surreal Life." "Yeah, she's right." "OK. Cool. I'm so fucking sick of homeless people. Why don't they take a shower? I should do a Kickstarter to get showers for homeless people." "I feel bad for them." "You would. Look. I've been taking pictures of all the homeless people I see. It's, like, the same six people every day. Look. See? It's like, why are you always here?" "Totally." I'm all for participatory democracy, but I really hope these kids don't vote.

I work in the Civic Center area and I've been trying forever and a day to eat lunch here since the day they opened. It hasn't happened. Luckily for me, I trudged my way from FiDi to Little Griddle on a drizzly Sunday morning before my loves had to head off to SFO. We managed to get a HUGE brunch here. By huge, I do mean HUGE brunch. The portions here are enormous. I barely ate half of my food. Seriously, this is why Americans are overweight yo. We need to chill out on our portion sizes ahahahaha. Food is pricier here because you're paying for quality, organic ingredients. Really comes out in the food. DO order some fresh squeezed orange juice. It's so good! Nothing tops fresh squeezed orange juice on a Sunday morning. I had a scramble (can't remember the name) but it came with hashed browns and 2 pieces of toast. Good grief everything was bigger than my head. Standard brunch fare for me, scramble (basically an omlette) hashed browns so you can't really mess that up... but I still need to try a burger here. Oh yeah, check in here via the Yelp app. You get a free hi five. hahaha
(4)Jennifer L.
I arrived a bit before noon on a weekday and was surprised at how empty it was. I wasn't surprised for long, there was a line out the door by 12:05p. I know the burgers here are what people talk about, but I decided to go a slightly healthier route and order a salad, the trail mix salad to be exact. It was amazing - baby greens, walnuts, raisins, cranraisins (maybe other things) and blue cheese with a balsamic vinaigrette. will definitely be back
(5)Kiana D.
They have awesome burgers! Their fries are the bomb. Portion size beyond generous. Everytime I eat a burger here I am ready for a nap afterwards. The staff is friendly and professional. Make sure to ask for a rewards card to collect points to get free menu items like a drink.

Sorry father for I have sinned. I have tasted what only could be evil, and only what is that devilishly good could be named the Lucifer. I generally don't like sweets mixed in with my food, as in like meatloaf with rasins, and other similar foods, but this was tooooo good. What has already been said about the Lucifer is true. All the rumors are true. Once you sink your teeth into the soft donut bun, through all the veggies that I stacked in, continuing to chomp down even more and pierce the medium well patty, and taste that secret sauce. SO GOOD. I was hesitant at the fact a suger donut cut in half and flipped sugar side in on the burger, it gave that perfect blend of sugar and salty. So good. The pattie was definitely hand made as it didn't have the perfect circle pattie shape. The meat was moist and delicious. Not dry like a school cafeteria burger. Definitely had body and loads of flavor. The burger comes with a side of fries, and it was plenty. More than enough to stuff you if the burger doesn't. The restraunt itself now resides where a broaster chicken spot used to be. They did a good job in turning the inside into a more modern, sleek, trendy, nicer place to sit in and dine. Tables and floors were all clean. Fresh paint coated the walls and new tables and chairs are in place. Clean. Fresh. Nice for a lunch spot. Only negative would probably be the prices. Yeah it's good for what you pay for, but with so many burger places the price could've maybe been a little cheaper, not a huge complaint, but $9 is kinda steep for a burger not in a restraunt. Come back? YES!
(4)John N.
It's a convenient corner diner with fast service if you're looking for a place to grab a quick breakfast. I got the nutella and strawberry bagel. It's pretty much what you'd expect from that, except a whole lot of it. Price reflected the portions. Service was good, nothing exceptional, but to be fair, I didn't really give them much of an opportunity to wow me. The yelp check-in special is cute, but I....uhh.....I wish it was an actual discount.
(4)Eugene Z.
Came here after seeing all the mouth-watering photos and was not disappointed. I wanted to order the lucifer just so I could say I've had a burger that had donuts for buns, but the lost in sriracha was calling to me. The burger has griddled peppers, onions, pineapple, which is then topped off with pepperjack, cilantro, and their aloha sriracha sauce. This was a fatty burger but the pineapple helped cut through some of the richness. Would love to come here again and try another item or two. Oh, and they were playing deadmau5's ghosts n stuff track when I was there. How sweet is that
(5)Chris R.
This place is legit. The burger was on point and exceeded my expectation. The only drawback of the place is it's size. The dining area mixes in with the ordering line so during lunch time it gets chaotic. This is my new go to spot in soma. Great food, staff is attentive and pleasant and overall good eatery!!
(5)Travis A.
Great lunch for the price I had a nice full-size traditional cheeseburger that came with fries and was under $10. Two thumbs up with five stars.

THE BEST AMERICAN STYLE BREAKFAST I HAVE EVER HAD... and not even at breakfast time Floating in the area looking for quick food to-go on my lunch break. Wow. This place is surprisingly a little gem. Walked in not expecting much but came out with a awesome meal. I was not even hungry but it was still amazing. A+ Student Omelete - packed with mushrooms, spinach, and cheese with some avocado thrown in and sprinkled with some diced tomatoes - 1st time i has meunster cheese outside of home - it combo-ed well with the omelete because it does not have an overpowering flavor - juicy but not soggy - lightly buttery but NOT GREASY (not like other omeletes where the grease sticks to the inside of your mouth) - the right amount of egg to balance the other ingredients - one of the best omeletes i have ever had** Hashbrowns - fresh tasting! not that frozen greased up, caked-together form that the chain restaurants serve. - since they make their own hashbrowns the potatos don't stick together and are like separate shoe strings which i found was very unique. - they grill the slices of potatoes to a crispy perfection - i could taste the butter in it but it was not oozing out of my potatoes when i pressed on them. the cook used the perfect amount of butter when cooking this 9-Grain Toast - the toast was so good that it deserved it's own section - it was so fresh and soft and fluffy, and it was gently toasted to add a thin layer of crispiness - the perfect toast although i was not hungry when eating this meal, it was so addictive i did not want to stop. but i had to go to work, so i saved some for 3 hours later and it was still good even though it was cold. cashier was friendly, cook was fast and smiley, atmosphere was clean, and they are green (compostable utensils, food containers, etc.) I cannot wait until the next time i float around here. I will certainly be comming back. with such great food and friendly service at a reasonable price, i would highly recommend this place to anyone!
(5)Amaryllia L.
Oh, why oh why didn't I get the donut burger?! Instead, I ordered Californication ($9.10) with sweet potato fries. Californication comes with avocado, bacon, mayonnaise, and swiss cheese. However, for this specific burger, the avocado was flavorless and creamy and just made the whole thing taste even more mayonnaise-y. The super-mild-barely-flavored swiss cheese didn't help either. So now I have a mayo-mayo-bacon-swiss burger...ugh, tasted like a mouthful of lard. There's lettuce, tomatos, red onions, and pickles that come on the side but I could not for the life of me figure out how to work those into a burger that was already twice as tall as my mouth so I ate them like a salad between bites of meat-textured lard. I also didn't like that all burgers were automatically cooked to medium well...but I'm sure they have a good reason for it. 3 stars for my mediocre experience. I will be back though (and hopefully up my rating) because the people are nice, the portions are huge, everyone else's food looked way more delicious than mine, and I want to try a square donut!
(3)K S.
Food Poisoning!! I got violently ill from a salad, one coworker from their yogurt, and another from a lunch they got here. All months apart, so clearly nothing has improved. This place needs to get their act together in a major way. Sure it tastes good, but for days of agony and missed work, it's NOT worth it!
(1)Athena S.
California burger, ask for it on Texas toast. Go wild & mix states. Damn yummy but very filling as it comes with fries, half of it went home with me. Mind you, I can definitely kill a burger. I'm not one off those shy chicks that eat a side salad as a main, unless at Pluto's. we met up on a Saturday for brunch and I'm torn between lunch and breakfast. I have to admit that when I saw my friends breakfast, I almost wish I got that instead. Her flapjacks were fluffy, eggs perfectly poached, bacon cripsy. Simple done right. Prices are very reasonable based on portions. Tiny spot, truly a little griddle, but a big hit....apparently always busy for a reason. Tables tend to flip pretty quick so don't fret off you see a line.

They make a killer omelette. Stuffed with delicious portions of veggies and bacon and avocado plus the option of muenster cheese inside and all without a dry egg outer shell. The hash browns were tasty if unspectacular. The weak points were the toast (needs to be crispier) and the limited seating. Also, they give you a hella big portion of food for $10.

Don't understand why this place only has 4 stars. Phenomenal omelette (I got the "A student"). Healthy but delicious. The 7-grain bread was awesome. The service is nice. There aren't a lot of tables, but I got lucky with getting one. There's no waiter service, FYI. The donut was lame - don't waste your calories.

I LOVE this place. I almost wish I hadn't tried it out. I work at Van Ness & Market - so, just down the street from Little Griddle. I was craving breakfast food and hot chocolate one morning and decided to take a quick walk down here to check it out. HEAVEN. Their bacon is thick and perfectly cooked, and their hash browns are just delicious. I think their coffee items are a wee-bit overpriced, but hey - still cheaper than Starbucks. The service is generally really quick (I've always gotten my food to go), and everyone's really friendly. Though there was one time where I walked in and noticed the cashier had a black eye and busted lip........ Awkward. Overall, I really love this place. I have yet to try their burgers, but I definitely plan on it!

After a night of some serious drinking I was in desperate need of grease. Thankfully, this place was open at 7:30 am to help ease my suffering. Such an unholy hangover was just asking for an equally depraved burger. The Lucifer burger had me at donut. The first and last bites were the best as they were the ones where the sugar overpowered the meat and cheese the most. The thick cut bacon was also an important element in this calorie ridden burger. The meal tore up my stomach but was totally worth it. I'm looking forward to checking out more of the menu as they have an array of make-or-break toppings.

I have eaten here a few times and the sandwiches are fantastic. Great selection, and so fresh. The staff are very friendly and the place is always busy, surely a testament to their offerings. Small, cozy, definitely a great place to head for lunch during the week, or brunch on a weekend.
(5)Rene R.
Great food. Owner is very in tune with customers.
(5)Adriana B.
A little pricey for the plates, in my opinion, but I guess sometimes it balances out bc they give you a good amount of food. I like the hash browns & I absolutely love their oatmeal! Yummy, cute place to eat.

Nicely placed on the corner of 10th and market. Very concise and appeasing menu of American dishes. Grandma. Griddles were perfect

4 solid stars for their Lucifer burger yes it is hellish to have a donut as a bun for some burger meat Driving down to this place parking will be a journey no matter the day you go. wait wise not bad maybe 5 min or less depending on how busy for us place technically empty. sampled two of there burgers the Lucifer & the Evil Knievel both offered niman ranch reserve meat, both offered bacon, both offered juiciness, both made medium well, here is what set them way apart the buns, the Evil Knievel standard regular burger bun, but the Lucifer burger has a donut as a bun. here is the breakdown for both burgers the Evil Knievel is two niman ranch reserve ground beef patties with bacon, cheese and lettuce, red onions, tomatoes on the side on a regular burger bun. taste for me on this burger is standard, standard more or less meaning i could have made this at home if I had the time to do so. the Lucifer is a definite marvel in regards to burgers, best of both worlds sweet and salty packed into one mass, lettuce, tomatoes and red onions not needed for this burger, I believe there are 3 or 2 cheeses offered on this burger but the kicker is the bun, a glazed donut on the top it looks like a regular patty melt or even like Jack in the Box's sourdough jack but when you bite down you get sweet with the salt a mixture of cheeses with bacon and grilled sweet onions from what I could taste. Nothing bad to say about this place, figuring this place is on Market St I wasn't thinking it was gonna be this clean inside, to me and my friend's surprise it was really clean and homey inside not very large but enough for a group of 4 to sit comfortably. Only reason this place did not get the 5th star was the meat could use some type of flavoring, juicy check, tender check, portion wise check only thing that lacked was flavor on the meat. secondary gripe with the food, the fries were standard no big whoop here just some standard fries that I could have got and baked or fried at my house costco brand. the Lucifer **** 1/2 for the mass they call the Lucifer 4.5 stars they either need to put a second patty on this bad boy or add some sort of flavoring that makes the meat stand out, the highlight on this burger is the sourdough looking but not glaze donut bun the Evil Knievel *** at best 2.5 because although the size was decent the flavor lacked. price $ service **** ambiance **** super neat and clean not one something you expect in the civic center market area If strolling around on market and you are looking for something different go for the Lucifer and ask for a second patty on that. haha

Fast, friendly rush hour service. In and out with awesome espresso and a bearclaw. I will definitely make this place one of my morning stops.
(4)M F.
Tried this place ONE more time since I was tired and didnt want to walk far. Employees STILL had a SNOTTY attitude and the breakfast was horrible! Eggs half cooked and bacon overcooked. Done with this place. Please close so a good restaurant can move in. Even a fastfood would be better than this pretentious wannabe Denny's.

Little Griddle, BIG TREAT. I love this place, even though it gets so busy during lunch time that even the thought of having a lovely meal seems impossible. I always get stressed when I step in line and decide that it's "for here". All the tables are always taken and people always look like they are savoring the crap out of their burgers because they were in the same predicament only 6 minutes earlier. However, rest assured - there is always a table for you and you will enjoy your meal and life will be good and safe and delicious again. The patties aren't too bulky, but there is a heaping pile of fries (or salad) waiting to be devoured. The veggie burgers are amazing and so are the turkey burgers. I haven't tried the beef, but if anything but the beef is delicious, I'm sure the red meat is awesome.
(4)Laura B.
Me and the boyfriend went here for breakfast on our anniversary, and it was so incredible! The pancakes (he ordered the pecan pancakes) were the best I've had in a really long time and my omelette (which was some veggie omelette) was super yummy. My favorite part was the hash browns though and there was a LOT to eat! The place is super cute and not really expensive either. Overall, loved it!
(5)Carlos V.
Fast, great food. Had a good time.
(5)Juliette R.
Little Griddle is (by far) my ABSOLUTE favorite burger joint!!! Reasons being: 1. All of their burgers come with fries; I loathe burger joints that make you purchase them separately 2. The portions are huge! I guarantee you will leave full 3. The overall quality of ingredients Once you've had the best, you always want the best. When I crave a burger but cannot go to Little Griddle, I feel a bit empty inside; like I'm eating with no purpose. Do you want to know how wonderful Little Griddle is? My sisters (who have never been to Little Griddle) ordered their burgers over the phone and ate them 20 minutes later and STILL thought that they were the best burgers they've had! It's that good!!
(5)Mark S.
The Best Burger I have ever had! I had the "Bacon Chessebwereger" Handmade seasoned patties right there! Thick Bacon spinach greens very fresh! Only a few tables in a little cool building with great people watching windows. Lemonade was great! One block down Market from VanNess Station (train). Friendly Service.
(5)Jen R.
Not being a breakfast person, it's gonna be hard to impress me with your assortment of omelettes and pancakes. So let it be known that I was eating that meal under duress as it was; a duress compounded by the fact that we walked about a mile and a half to get there... on our way to the MTA office to get our neighborhood parking sticker. I had the bits and pieces scramble, which is eggs with chicken sausage, mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes. It was OK. My universe was not changed. And the snarky little bonus of a high five for checking in with Yelp wasn't as endearing as I think they think it is. No table service, so part of your party has to grab a table while another portion stands in line. And don't forget your silverware, napkins, or water while you're up there. Otherwise you'll begin to wonder what you're paying them for. High five.
(3)Enrique C.
I should have ordered the lucifer burger but I went for a breakfast sandwich. It was forgettable except for the sourdough bread and thick cut bacon. My dining partner ordered the unholy lucifer burger and the two of he taunted me from across the table during the entire meal. I'll be back.
(3)Pang H.
I had the Pilgrim sandwich. It's by far, one of the best turkey and cranberry sandwiches I have ever had!
(5)Jonathan A.
I have never had a bad sandwhich from this place and their coffee is great. I would highly recommend the Ultimate Hashbrowns. They are so tasty! This place has a lot of choice when it comes to bread, cheese, and selection of coffee. They are also conscious about their environmental impact and use cage free eggs, which is always a plus. Great for breakfast and lunch!
(5)Myles T.
I was expecting this place to be another weird Market St. hole in the wall donut shop, but after peeking through the window I was intrigued. What an awesome little place! I loved the omelet I ordered... it was top notch, with thick sourdough toast and more hash browns than I knew what to do with. Really friendly staff as well! I will definitely be coming back... the guy at the table next to me was devouring some french toast that I'd like to get my fork into...
(5)Chris N.
Great burger and breakfast joint! Quality ingredients, cute decor and prompt service. The best burgers in sf!
(5)May D.
Walking through the the Civic Center/Tenderloin area in which Little Griddle is situated in is worse than walking through the ghetto streets of Oakland, but hey I'm from the hoods of Oakland and in the name of good food, I am down! I love breakfast food and the fact that Little Griddle serves breakfast all day won my heart. They serve all the quintessential breakfast foods like scrambles, omelets, hashbrowns, pastries and bagels; but they also have burgers for either lunch or dinner to please everyone. I ordered the chicken apple sausage scramble with onions and mushrooms smothered with melted muenster cheese and paired with perfectly crispy hash browns -- deeeelish! Oh! AND for some bomb hashbrowns, this is the place to go. Little Griddle's serves up by far the best hashbrowns I ever had in terms of crispiness and consistency! Finally, a place that doesn't serve soggy hash!
(4)Sarah W.
Despite my friend and I walking in just a few minutes before closing, the workers were really nice and still let us grab a bite to eat. We were craving breakfast food and so indulged in strawberry banana pancakes, eggs, bacon, and donuts. They're donuts are good. Pancakes were great! I ordered a White Mocha and my friend ordered the Lemonade and we loved them both. I'm excited to go back and try their lunch/dinner menu.
(5)Peggy W.
Decided to check out the Terracotta Warriors, so was looking for a place that was near by and not too expensive. Because of the good reviews, gave this place a try, and was not disappointed. I had the Patty Melt, and my hubby had a burger with pineapple. Both were yummy. Although the place is small, we did not have a problem finding a seat. Looking forward to going back and trying one of the other crazy named burgers...although I think I will pass on the one served on a donut!
(4)Ken W.
The quintessential urban diner. Dark, small, throbbing music, rock-bottom prices, cultivatedly diffident staff and greasy, wholesome, delicious food. Please franchise this experience so I can relive my egg and cheese nirvana through pale representations in stale imitations anywhere in the country. If the US has 10,000 waffle houses, it should be able to support at least that many little griddles.
(5)Zehra A.
The cornerstones of a happy childhood includes running barefoot in the summer, collecting fireflies in a jar, and munching on the ooey gooeiest, perfectly grilled cheese sandwich. While I don't plan on letting my son run barefoot in the city anytime soon, nor have I seen any fireflies in my neighborhood, my son can partake in grilled cheese goodness. We had the swiss and mushroom burger, grilled cheese and french fries. While the burger was great, the grilled cheese was EXCELLENT. Pefect gooey-ness of the cheese, golden crisped white bread with lots of butter. It was instant time travel back to third grade, sharing lunch with BFFs. Best grilled chese ever. Oh and the other stuff is good too. :)
(4)Karen L.
Came here for lunch and got the Traditional burger. Big size patty with a good amount of pickles and lettuce. The sauce was OK, but became too drippy towards the end. Comes with fries, and they are awesome!
(4)B L.
Went to Little Griddle's faux opening today and loved it! Nice little place. It didn't feel like it's not opened the yet. The service from the staff were speedy and friendly. The burgers were phenomenal (tried the traditional and the turkey one). I can't wait until they open! (I heard they'll probably open some times next month)
(5)Ly T.
A donut lover cannot pass up the opportunity to have a Lucifer!! yep, that's right--donut burger. Best of both worlds, sweet & savory, at the same time, tingling your tastebuds! I was trying to think, how'd they make it work? They slice the donut and flip it inside out. Pure genius! Messy? Yes! Worth it? Yesss!! Yess!! Griddle cakes were normal, nothing special nor bad. They sure don't skimp on the chocolate chips tho, so that's a plus! Their smothered hasbrowns sounded interesting, but I was already too full to stuff my face further. On leaving, I only then realized they have a case of freshly baked donuts. *drool* Shall be back, on an emptier stomach and with more people!
(4)Denny L.
Great service, great hamburgers, great hashbrowns, great sweet potato fries, great coffee. Great Great Great!
(5)Cavin T.
Id say its a 3.5 instead of 4 stars. Nothing to complain about really, service is good, food is descent and the place is rather cute.I had the special savory burger, the sweet and savory(its griddled pineapples with onions and crystal hot sauce). Love the burger, it was sweet, which was my kinda burger. The mocha was good too, i love coffee and burger in the morning! Oh and btw, they have variations of how you want your burger can be, so i like how this place can be pretty flexible.
(4)Jamie C.
I only got the chance to get takeout breakfast here once - was in a rush to get to the airport. I really want to come back to have a proper meal, though. First off - the restaurant is really bright, fresh, and clean, not like your average dingy whole in the wall. You go in and make your order, they give you a number, and you seat yourself. If there are no seats (like on the Sunday morning that I went), you just wait around until a seat opens. It didn't seem like the wait would be too long, though. The restaurant is small, so I don't recommend coming with more than 4 people. The food was very yummy, but by the time I got to take it home, it was kind of a mess - the pancakes were soggy from the syrup and the omelettes were kind of cold. I live so close to this, though, so hopefully I'll be able to come back and have a proper meal!
(4)Tommy A.
Simple, quick, hearty, good and pretty cheap breakfast. Although it may be tough to find a table, it's a good place for a quick breakfast.
(4)Kelly C.
Yum! I ordered the Sriracha burger and it was juicy! The burger had a huge patty medium cooked, pineapples, onions, cheese and homemade hot sauce. Accompanied with a side fat fries, the lunch really hit the spot. One of the best burgers I ever ate. Can't wait to come back to try the rest.
(4)Anthony R.
I ate here for breakfast 3 times during my week long trip to San Francisco. It was pretty close and the reviews were good so the GF decided to give it a try. Each time we had breakfast here it was great. From the sammie's they have to the pancakes, everything i had was pretty good. the girl working the counter with henna art was very nice and recommended stuff for our first time. The kitchen was right behind the counter so you could always see what they were cooking. Also, if you are vegan(i am not) they seemed to have a pretty good selection of vegan only stuff as well. If you are near market and van ness stop here for breakfast.
(4)Harper Z.
Great food and atmosphere. Can't wait to come back.
(5)Alexis M.
I would rec the House Patty Melt. Granted it's the only thing i have ever ordered, but it is always tasty. First, everything here is pretty green (all of the silverware can be composted). The turkey burder is delish. The sweet potato fries are magnificent and the griddle sauce that coats everything is very tasty. It's definitely an island. There isn't a lot around the area to eat that isn't beyond dirty and a bit creepy. This place is clean, the food is good and it's close by to some good stuff. The only negative is there aren't enough tables. So, sometimes you have to wait.
(5)Linh D.
A little hard to get to location, but able to manage to find meter street parking close by. Sadly they were short on a few things today, such as no mushroom, no orchata and no instant grati-vacation. Decided on lucifer instead which was delicious. This is the second time I had a donut burger and they got the taste, moisture and texture right! Normally the places I went to it's a non-glazed, dry and flakey donut that it just kills the sweet and savory taste of it, but little griddle got it. The only thing is it didn't look like a donut burger because the top of the glazed donut was pressed against the cheese and meat so then if you didn't know it was a donut you'll just think it's just sweet bread because it's square shaped too. I think the presentation of it to identify it's a donut would make it a bit more interesting. Indeed it is a lucifer! LOL! Portions was good, comes with a basket full of thick cut fries which was good too. Be ware there are a few sandwiches on the menu that can be bit spicy and messy so prepare to wash your hands or wipe them if you're not down for the mess. Enjoy!

The devilish seductiveness of the Lucifer burger lured me to San Francisco all the way from Vancouver, but when push came to shove, I chickened out. Lame I know, but my weird eating foibles make me dislike sweet food paired with savoury items. Not to fear though; at Little Griddle, I was still in good hands. I ended up ordering the Pig Funguess burger which was just perfect! It oozed with cheddar cheese and loads of cremini mushrooms. Next to peanut butter and chocolate, that's gotta be one of the best combinations in the world. The Huzz ordered the Evil Knievel which, with extra beef and three types of melty cheese, left him pretty darn happy. With good food, good music, and great horchata, this is pretty much the best American-style diner I've been to. It's where weight-loss plans go to die.
(4)Michelle O.
We stopped in for lunch. The place is tiny and not much seating unless there is some hidden that we weren't aware of. The burgers were amazing and loved the fries - although be careful, if you are allergic to peanuts be aware that they cook their fries in peanut oil. Staff was friendly, and I loved their table markers (infinity and beyond!)
(4)Jeffrey L.
Nice little underrated breakfast joint! After driving past Mama's and Dottie's True Blue Cafe and seeing the loooong line at both places on an early Friday cloudy morning in San Francisco, we were looking for something to eat. As we were heading to get donuts in the Mission, we spotted Little Griddle and decided to check it out and we were not disappointed! The location is pretty random (10th and Market) but the place was full with people dining in and workers from the area picking up brekky on the go. I got one of omelets with a choice of toast or bagel. Seeing that most places don't offer a bagel with your meal, I opted for the garlic bagel and it was one of best garlic bagels I've had. My omelet had sausage, mushrooms, and bell peppers. The hashbrowns are half regular cooked hashbrowns and half extra crispy which gives each bite an extra crunch. So if you work/live in the Civic Center area or hate waiting at some hypebeast breakfast place, definitely check this place out!

Awesome!!

Breakfast isn't really my thing, especially in this town. On weekends hoards of 20-35 year olds swarm places like pork store, howards, eddie's and others around 11am all over this city. Some people enjoy nothing more than working off their hangovers by waiting in line for endless hours waiting for a mediocre two-egg breakfast. I am not one of those people. All that said I would wait in line to eat at Little Griddle. This place is smart enough to have all your breakfast needs covered. Bagels and donuts living together! Who knew it was possible? Breakfast sandwiches WITHOUT eggs! Amazing! Of all this the highlight for me were the hashbrowns. My girlfriend got the ultimate hashbrown thing, topped with sour cream and avocado, welcome to savory breakfast heaven. Also no crowds yet, I'm afraid soon this little griddle little secret will get out but I can understand why.
(5)Tara M.
We've been to Little Griddle twice and have loved it both times. We've had the pancakes, breakfast sandwich, bacon, hash browns, donuts, eggs. Everything has been consistently excellent and the portions are large enough to share. Definitely recommend!
(5)Monica W.
So Little Griddle has replaced what once was Lunch Geek (although I believe they're all owned by the same people). Had lunch here around 1:00 pm and was disappointed to find they didn't serve pancakes this late in the day (though they do have some all day breakfast items). Lunch menu seems to consist almost entirely of burgers so I decided to build my own where you pick 2 sauces, veggies, cheese, and toppings. I went with the chipotle and smokey BBQ sauce with all veggies, peperoncini, pepper jack, and avocado (cost an extra). Burgers come with french fries but you can upgrade it to sweet potato fries for about $1 something more. The place is tiny and even at after 1 PM on a Friday my party of 4 had to wait for seats to become available. Service was relatively quick, they cleaned off the table we sat at and you get to pour your own water. When the food came I was HUGE portions. The large slices of avocado added so much volume that I could barely take a full bite of it, and it was a dripping mess from the BBQ and chipotle sauce (I added some Cholua to it as well and it was a nice spicy combination). They give you a massive helping of french fries which I couldn't finish. You definitely get a lot of food for your money and I'd say it's worth the price, the burger was fantastic. This is a delicious burger place, but it does get very crowded during lunch. I'd love to come back for breakfast - I saw chocolate chips back there and I love chocolate chip pancakes. Maybe I'll even a burger on their square donuts!
(4)Amy M.
I pretty much only come here for breakfast, and have to act fast to get my pancakes! They stop breakfast service around noon each day, so don't wait too long. These are actually the best pancakes I have ever had hands down~ they are giant, fluffy and soo yummy. I love to get them with strawberries and powdered sugar.
(5)Patrick H.
I've only been there once, and it was long enough ago that I don't remember exactly what I had, but I remember that I really enjoyed the place. I do remember grabbing a donut on the way out after my initial breakfast, and it was delicious. If you're looking for a breakfast spot downtown, I'd give Little Griddle a try.
(5)Johnny G.
SUPER IMPRESSED WITH THE FOOD! Came here hungry with my girlfriend early in the morning as I dropped off my dad's car at Honda for an oil change. It looks like a little shack but don't let the size of this place fool you. It can get packed quick! I ordered the Pop's ritual and my girlfriend ordered the Grandma's griddles. Let me start off with the omelet. The omelet is made in a way that the egg is cooked together and the meat/onions/mushrooms are wrapped in the egg. Pretty unique way of making them and it definitely tasted good too! The hashbrowns were delicious as well. They weren't your typical stuck together hashbrown that was probably deep fried, no siree. Each potato strip was cooked and they did not stick together at all. It was crunchy and fully cooked unlike some places that I've had 'em at. It also came with a bagel but after eating the omelet and hash browns, I was already full. I still stuffed it in though and it wasn't really anything to gloat over. The omelet and hashbrowns are definitely worth a second visit! Service was good and quick. The cashier did forget to give my girlfriend the orange juice but it was an honest mistake. No complaints here! ***Parking***: Street metered parking. ***QUICK TIP***: Come early in the morning to avoid the long lines/wait! They seem to get crowded quick as it hits later in the morning/afternoon. I was there at 9 and they were completely packed by 930-945ish. Cash/Credit accepted.

The Monday Revival is pretty much a grilled cheese w/ veggies in it. Tasty but a bit greasy. Very filling. Crunch donut surprisingly good.
(4)Lisa S.
I get the funny feeling (Cherylynn) that my foursquare mayorship of this place won't last long. That's okay: I know people who work in the area (rather than live in the area) NEED a place to eat lunch that's better than what's been around here. I just enjoy the luxury of finally having a restaurant steps from my place that's actually good. So far, nothing I've had at Little Griddle has been a miss. Breakfast items: great! French toast, hash browns, eggs -- yum, yum, yum! Even the oatmeal and yogurt plate hits the spot on a healthy-food day. The burgers are, of course, also fantastic. So, you know, just go.
(5)Raciel A.
Love this place! My GF and I eat breakfast here almost every Sunday. The price is reasonable. Food is always tasty. Employees are also friendly. Love the rewards program - I believe I can get a free breakfast next time I go :)
(5)Kathleen K.
I've been passing here during my lunch hour and have been surprised at the crowd they are drawing. So today, as a belated birthday celebration with a co-worker we decided to give it whirl. Luckily for us, it wasn't crowded when we first got there. We just beat them, barely. Anyway, Little Griddle soooo exceeded my expectations in everyway. The staff was friendly, the food was super good and the prices were right on. I had the Mt. Tamalpais burger with some slight modification but they didn't flinch at all. :) So if your in the neighborhood and want to grab a super lunch, give them a try. You'll probably be more than pleasantly surprised. Next week I am going to give their breakfast menu a try. I'll update y'all.

This is my first review ever on Yelp. Yep, I like this little place that much. We came here two days in a row. Everything we have tried so far has been really good. Day one we couldn't decide between a burger or breakfast so my husband and I got both and shared. We got the Lucifer Burger and the Cliche breakfast with bacon, hash-browns, and you get a choice of bagel or toast. The bacon was grilled nice and crispy, how bacon should be without having to order it that way. The hash browns were also nicely crispy and not just on the outside. It's perfectly cooked so you get nice pieces of crispy and soft pieces of hash browns. Yum. The burger was a little messy to eat but so worth it. We ended up eating it with a knife and fork. The fries are also fried nicely where they aren't too crispy and not too soft. Perfect for my little 15 month old to munch on with us and not choke. Also a plus, they give a nice amount of fries with the order, so we were able to bring some home for a snack later. And they serve them on these cute little silver trays that look like mini baking trays. Day two we just had burgers. My husband stuck with the Lucifer and I wanted to try something different so I got the Pig Funguess. The Lucifer was good but since it is on a donut bun it was a little hard to eat so I wanted something on a regular bun. We were really disappointed when the server came to let us know that they had run out of beef earlier in the day and all they had left was turkey and veggie patties. We just went ahead with the turkey. We were expecting something really dry and tasteless but it was delicious, juicy and really well seasoned. It didn't taste like a frozen patty either. So if you want a healthier option, you can't go wrong with turkey. This place is about a 10-15 minute walk from our home but definitely worth the walk. I found this place thanks to Yelp and I'm glad we tried it. Based on the pictures, I thought this place would be bigger but it is kind of small. Thank goodness we were able to get seats right away on both days but while we were there a couple of small groups came and and seats were filled quickly. If this place were a little closer to home I think I would be here at least once a week.
(5)Tonie G.
Food looks amazing, but it just doesn't deliver. We ordered the Lucifer and the American Traditional burger. Both looked great, but I specifically said no onions. They came with onions. The fries are tasty. Not really crisp, they need salt. The hand pressed orange juice is good, this is where one star comes from. Plus the service is pretty fast, so there is another star. The guy at the counter with the nose piercing seemed bored and left as soon as we ordered. I ordered a bagel to go, but then I noticed all the flies. HEALTH INSPECTION!!! Then the guy at the register gave me the one that had all the flies! I asked him to take it back and give me a fresh one, luckily he complied. If you want good food, order the breakfast, they really fall flat with the burgers. Go to Roam for a good burger. Never coming back :( * The owner contacted me and apologized. I think this was a nice gesture. I used to work in a restaurant and I know its hard to please everyone, but for me no onions means no onions. I get very sick if there is onion on my burger and this put a damper on my day. But I will boost them up to 2 stars
(2)Melanie M.
I was so disappointed in this place. All I wanted was a good pancake and it was average at best. I got the pecan pancake with bananas and strawberries on top. The pecan was just sprinkled on top (not inside like you would expect from a named pancake). The strawberries and bananas were fresh but just thrown on top with no real thought to the presentation or whole picture of the dish. Very disappointed for a place who is named Griddle. *sigh*

Great burger joint (and from what I gather reading other Yelpers' posts, good spot for morning-after bfast as well!). Enjoyed the Instant Grati-Vacation burger...cooked perfectly, and served on an artisan bun and a huge side of fries. Fries were fairly generic, but no complaints. Burger was delicious and extremely filling...loved the nice touches like thinly sliced pickles and fancy bun. Only complaint is that after half the burger I had to resort to eating it with a fork n knife, as the bun just couldn't handle the meat and toppings that were piled onto it. Oh yeah, served quickly and was a great value too!
(4)Sean M.
This is a great little place! My GO TO PLACE!!! Great for breakfast and lunch! Nothing but good meals, good quick friendly service and good coffee!!! They offer a full line of espresso drinks (I like a dry cappuccino) and quite an assortment of baked goods! You can get a quick breakfast sammy or bagel and hit the streets running or settle in with a nice beverage as you wait for your meal in this bright and airy corner place with lots of entertaining people watching and the new apt/condo building going up across the street (Mid-Market is getting nicer!). Forget about Super-Duper and some of the other highly touted burger places in town when you can get a really good burger in oh so many combinations here... I have had several and they have all been very good! Oh and the fries... WTF???? The portion of fries, good good fries is very generous and they have several condiment options too! Get in here and say 'HI' to my fat old gray bearded ass if you see me! CHEERS!

Great little spot in DT San Fran. Not the cheapest but the food was awesome and even better, they had almond milk for their lattes. I would go there any day, but get there EARLY as the line picks up fast. It seems to be the only little quaint breakfast spot in this busy area. #happy

Mt Tamalpais burger, list most bacon bleu burgers, is delicious. They also throw more fries at you than you can shake a stick at. And if you do as much stick shaking as I, (mind out of the gutter please) it's nice.

Good food. Easy in an out at lunch time!

Let me get right to the point. Food: Amazing. I had an amazing scramble that pulled me in over and over again like the song of sirens. It came with incredible, I repeat, incredible toast. I know it seems like a small part of the meal, but we all know how important it is. Lastly, the hash browns were the best I've ever had. Food aside the place is amazing simply because of the setting, the decor, and the super jovial staff. To top it off I received a FREE hug for checking in on Yelp. The hug was a nice way to end the meal and start the day. Thanks for a great experience! One last thing. If you get the waitress with the heart tattoo behind her ear tell her I think she is absolutely stunning!!

Got the bits n pieces scramble and it was huge and delicious. Hash browns were crispy, but a little under cooked. Staff is friendly though.

This is a great place to catch a bite especially if you're up in the city alone. It used to be a great broasted chicken place. The location is ideal for the Civic Center area. The menu has some pretty good items and the price is right. The staff was really friendly. I'd definitely recommend it.

It's been over 18 years since I've been in San Fran, and I came for work one weekend for Bay to Breakers. And my co worker grew up and worked in San Fran, Little Griddle was one of our first stops. I have to say I was there 3xs during the weekend! The french toast was cooked perfectly, not too sweet! My co worker had a donut burger, yes that's right a donut burger. He wouldn't talk to me while he scarfed the burger down. Close to the convention center and on Market-really easy to find! Better coffee than Starbucks, so find Little Griddle, next to the hostel! It's worth every cup of coffee and donut! And a really friendly staff! Place was always packed with locals, which is a good sign.

I wish this place was open when I was in grad school. My standard beef burger was pretty solid for $7.00. It was a decent sized patty prepared medium well with lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, onions, and light mayo. I added the ketchup and for an extra buck, I substituted the french fries for a salad. Hey, sometimes compromises are needed. My friend and I got there in the nick of time b/c right after she placed her order, she secured a table for us. By the time I paid, all the tables were taken. There is no outdoor seating (not surprising, I can only imagine the cast of characters on Market St begging for change and other things). My only complaint - the $3.00 iced tea in a plastic cup. For that much, it should have been bigger, especially on such a gloriously hot day.

breakfast and lunch time, they do a brisk business here. Every morning that I walk by, there are always some people in there. I finally met up with a friend and haphazardly ordered the mushroomy burger and an arnold palmer. Mind you, these are $10 burgers. But, what burgers they are! Huge luscious fatty delicousness! My burger eventually fell apart, so I ate the rest of it in finger pieces. This was fine, as I was having a talk a lot type of lunch. The staff was downkey yet friendly and helpful. I think this is definitely my cheeseburger lunch spot for now!

I saw the closed sign for lunch geek for a long time and then I saw this place open up. It was very welcomed by me. I love breakfast food :) I tried their grannies griddles which were pretty good. 2 strips of real bacon, 2 pretty large and good tasting pancakes, and 2 eggs :) I didn't feel greasy after and overall it was pretty good. People were nice. I am going to come back again and check out some other dishes. This might be one of my new fave places.

After seeing pics of their burgers and reading their burger menu, I knew I wanted to try this place. My fiance and I were in SF for the day. Our food came out on a tray--tons of fries and the burger was nice and juicy. Mid-way through eating, the burger was dripping down my hands. The place is small but the flavor is huge. I'm definitely coming back here.

Another place in walking distance to me ... I love breakfast ... that's all I have really have had here ... usually a bagel sandwich ... Food is decent .. pretty average, nothing to rave about but its good and filling ... Staff is friendly and courteous .. and it's always nice to have a window seat on market during the morning hours ... All in all its decent and worth a shot ... it will fill you up in a tasty way .. A-OK!

Not sure why but I have had better burgers. They seem really tasty in thought but once I am eating it I am not overly impressed. I do think that they should season the meat a little more. Maybe I am holding to hire standards from other places I crave.
(3)Devin S.
I often wake up in the tenderloin, frustrated an depressed but whew! Little griddle solves all those problems with their chocolate chip pancakes man they're good. So if you need a morning pick me up? Go drown your sorrows in a nice golden pancake stack. Mmmhmmm como cielo.
(4)Natasha T.
I can't get enough of this place. I've only been here twice, but both times have been amazing experiences. Their burgers are delightfully juicy and flavorful. I haven't tried their breakfast items yet, but I plan on eating my way through their menu soon. Try the glazed donuts. They are great. They kind of taste like cotton candy.
(5)Matt W.
The Lucifer reminded me of all the good things about the flavor profile of a McGriddle. Sweet potato fries were excellent. Portions are ginormous. The staff was attentive and fun. Hell, I'd be attentive and fun if I worked around delicious donuts all day.
(5)Gordon B.
Very busy for Sunday brunch with so few places to sit and quite loud. Definitely not a relaxing place to be. My friends and I didn't bother waiting for a seat so we just took the food back to my place and ate it there. Really good coffee and good selection of food though
(4)Joe C.
The Lucifer!! Omg the best burger combo I've had in a while. A donut and a bacon cheeseburger.
(5)Timoteo K.
great burgers, great fries. even the side salad is delish. A little pricey but the hipsters working the counter are nice and fun so what's not to like? Hint: Call ahead at lunch time, the line goes out the door early.
(4)Steve S.
I wanted to like Little Griddle. It is very convenient to my apartment and I enjoy eating breakfast out. Unfortunately, while the food as acceptable, it arrived stone cold. Cold eggs are not my idea of a treat. In addition the meal was served without silverware. All in all it was a very disappointing experience and I won't be back. Stacks is only a few blocks away and I get a much better breakfast and a pleasant dinning experience for roughly the same price. I understand that the concept of the place might be quasi-serve yourself funky, but I still expect my food to be hot, and if I have to set the table don't charge me a full service price.
(1)Kathryn M.
Solid breakfast spot with great ingredients and a varied menu. This is my usual spot in the area right after I see the ridiculous line at Dottie's or Brenda's. I'm not even sure why I bother with those two though when Little Griddle is always great and always has a table open.
(4)Judy L.
Get the crumble donut before they run out. Excellent to go menu items. Perfect grilled cheese - with choice of at least 4 different cheeses. The garlic bagel - super fresh and potent - can save you from vampires.
(5)Steve U.
I've come to love their "Morning Cliche" breakfast: chicken apple sausage, eggs over medium, and a generous helping of hash browns. Add a dose of Frank's Red Hot and you won't be disappointed.
(5)Richa A.
This is a friendly yummy can't-go-wrong-with-the-basics kind of place. I placed a phone order for chocolate chip griddle cakes (pancakes) to bring back to my office around 2pm... staff was super friendly on the phone, super friendly in person when I picked it up. And they're quick -- I was told 5 minutes, and it was bagged and ready to go when I showed up. The pancakes had the perfect fluffiness to crispiness ratio, served with a generous portion of maple syrup and butter on the side. Nothing fancy about what I got, though they do offer other kinds (like pecan!) and different toppings. They're definitely still getting situated -- I asked for a take-out menu and it was apparent that this was something they probably wanted to have available but just hadn't gotten around to yet. Speaking of, their menu IS available online, but on menupages, and you can't put a menupages link in the menu field on Yelp [ahem, Yelp...]. So here's the MENU: sanfrancisco.menupages.c… Enjoy! This place gives me warm fuzzies. I mean, with a name like "Little Griddle", how could it not?

The burgers here are very good, although they do tend to be really messy and fall apart as you eat them. On the plus side, they give you and entire bag of fries (try the sweet potato)! I have also tried a few of their sandwiches, a little pricey for a basic sandwich and chips, but they are good. I have yet to try their breakfasts or coffee, but they both look really appetizing and are very popular with seemingly everyone else who orders from here. Beware: there is very minimal seating space, the restaurant is very small, and they do get extremely busy during lunchtime hours. Even when I order food to go it feels awkward constantly trying to stay out of people's way while waiting for my food. Also, the cashiers seem a little "out-of-it" sometimes, as if they forget what they are doing, but that stage passes by quickly, thankfully. Try to go before or after lunch time for less stress.
(3)J L.
Scramble - Bits & Pieces no cheese w/ avocado instead (no charge) salad, rye toast and coffee good egg to stuff ratio - tasty great portion size thicker than normal toast (great, no skimping) tasty pastries very friendly, pleasant staff easy parking on the wkends
(4)Baby J.
Overpriced. Mediocre food. For faster service and Banana infused pancakes, stick with Chloe's in Noe Valley.
(2)Ben G.
First, thanks for the response, Mr. Griddle. I will reiterate that other people's orders looked bountiful, indeed, but the combo platter I got was bare-bones, exactly as I described it -- too little food for $10. However, I've since been back and ordered a scramble, and it was excellent, and plentiful. I will say some of the omelets and scrambles on the menu are a bit same-y (like, do they *all* have to have tomatoes?) but the ingredients in the one I ordered were all clearly fresh. Great espresso too. Keep up the good work and kudos for investing in the neighborhood.
(4)Kyle B.
Great burgers! Melt in your mouth pancakes. A place that serves breakfast all day is the best!
(5)David P.
My friends Irv and Eric got together for our Saturday breakfast ritual although they said we were going to try something new, the new Little Griddle where Hayes st ends at Market right across from Fox Plaza. I love the location, lots of foot traffic right between VanNess and Civic Center BART/MUNI stations. You place your order at the counter, they give you a number to place on the table of your choice and your food is brought out to you. Lots of interesting combos, something for everyone. The staff were friendly, the crowd was a good slice of the city, the price was just right, about $13 for eggs, hashed browns, toast, bacon and coffee. I'd definitely go back, thanks for a great meal!
(4)Mike J.
Yet another great new spot in the Mid-Market neighborhood! Went for breakfast this morning and LOVED it. Around 9 bucks will get you a massive plate loaded with Breakfast Goodness, unless you are absolutely starving you will have a hard time eating all of it. They offer several interesting scrambles and omelets and probably the most perfectly done hash browns I have ever had, all served-up with a smile. We had no problem getting in on a Monday morning but this place is TINY so I imagine it probably gets packed on a weekend. Can't wait to go back for lunch (and for some of the cool square donuts)!
(5)Jason H.
Excellent breakfast style, with great varieties. Not your typical IHOP nor Denny's
(5)Abi R.
Great breakfast. The eggs are delicious on a large plate topped with enough hashbrowns to keep me full all day.
(4)Sara G.
I had the standard American burger without all the fancy trimmings, and found it decent but kind of overcooked and chewy around the edges. They only do medium well according to the sign at the front, so if you like something a bit pinker and juicier you're apparently out of luck. Nice soft bun, ok sweet potato fries. (as always, I wish for more salt and more crisp on the outside) I think if you want a burger piled up with lots of toppings you're going to like this place more than I did. It's a good lunch option to have on this rather bleak section of Market Street, but there are better burgers in town.
(3)Jen H.
One of the best Omelettes I've had. (I got the A + student). Nice, local feel. Excellent coffee. Delicious homemade donuts! We got right in and found seating to be no problem (around 9 am on a Sunday am). I would definitely return if we are ever back in the San Fran area!
(5)Ray R.
i came back here again after looking for a burger place. again, i had the instant grati-vacation but this time i had it with a turkey burger and i will have to say that this was the BEST turkey burger i've ever had. it was seasoned perfectly and cooked perfectly!
(5)Sandy P.
This is as good as it gets. To repeat the ongoing theme. There is no where to eat in Civic Center. I finally tried this place out. It's a very small space. Not too much room to move around in. I say this because it got really crowded for lunch. I was in and out in 15 mins. I ordered the pig fungus burger with regular fries. Wow I'm so coming back here. The burger was juicy. The cheese was gooey goodness. He had mushrooms and applewood bacon. I liked that the veggies were on the side. So I could pile it on myself. They don't use that horrid iceberg or romaine lettuce. I think it's butter lettuce. Which was a nice change. The veggies were onions, pickles, tomatoes and lettuce. They use real potatoes. The fries were divine. I would go back for them alone. I think it was well worth the money. Burger , fries and a coke was $11 bucks.
(5)Sam S.
So I'm back at my favorite work day lunch spot. I'd eat their burgers nearly every other day if I didn't care about my waste line or heart disease!
(4)Stu S.
Signage is a problem for drivers at this tricky location at the Southeastern corner of Fell and Market with only a 2nd story outdoor sign invisible to traffic going East on either street. But I sniffed it out and am sitting on a stool at the window facing the construction project going on between Market, 10th and Mission waiting for their 'American Tradition' with fries. So I grab one of the publications laying around and read to allay my burger dreams, and what seems like a flash, here comes today's slice of heaven. Served closed on a lined tin platter with a huge portion of seasoned house cut fries (why do green and organic joints season their fries in the 1st place) that taste off because of the seasoning salt. The burger is picture perfect with a quality bun that wasn't mass produced like all the fast food places, and it's toasted divinely. The large, hand shaped, imperfect patty is cooked by someone with the soul of Julia Child and the cheese is melted just right, a lip smacking sauce and high quality fixings including butter lettuce and a pinkish secret sauce. I want to shout out 'Eureka', I've found it, here it is. It didn't take long to gobble down the deliciousness of this Little Griddle burger masterpiece, and I'll be back for sure. It's an interesting and unusual location with city Hall, Civic Center and a soemwhat seedy area of SOMA bounding it so the crowd is hipster, skater, bureaucrat, banker, biker and maybe a baker or two with few tourists which is a shame. The staff are young, likely skaters themselves and yet extremely courteous and concerned about the food and your experience. This is a stand up burger, and I hugely recommend it..
(4)Paul S.
Great breakfast spot.
(5)Jennifer C.
This place is fantastic. It's a cute medium sized diner with healthy, organic food. A lot of people take their food to go because there isn't enough sitting space there. The seating is first-come, first-serve. All the food was delicious and not that pricey. We'll definitely be back! =)

It's not a bad place but I have to bring this place down a star for its location. I can't believe I walked 5 blocks from Powell through some of SF's sketchiest to eat here. I guess based on the previous reviews, I was expecting an almost ethereal experience. I had the hobo hash and I was expecting corned beef/pastrami/brisket and not ground beef. The menu said "Maine beef" or something like that but again, I wasn't expecting ground beef. I also expected cubed, fluffy potatoes, but instead, got hash browns. I also asked for my eggs scrambled and the lady said "everything was scrambled together" and so, I was further disappointed when I got to sunny side eggs.
(2)Matthew C.
I really want to give this place 5 stars but I was just craving a big, juicy, top of the line burger that I'm not sure if my ravenous taste buds were just so thankful that any burger would have sufficed. I walk by the place all the time and this is only my first time here. The Hot Mess called out to me cause that's pretty much me these days and it delivered. Spicy, hot, juicy and fell apart.I was left eating scraps of bun and pepper and pickle droppings, just the way I like. I just had normal fries which were soggy (i prefer them this way) and bountiful. I will be back.
(4)Troy C.
I don't like hamburgers, but this place is just so delicious what's not to love. I always get a donut too mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm so good.
(4)Scott S.
Best scramble / omlet I've ever had. (Hickory ham, mushroom, avocado) Fair prices, quality ingredients, great coffee. The place was a little hot until they opened the door, but it definitely deserves my 5 stars
(5)Valerie N.
came here for lunch with co workers and their burgers are bomb .com if you check in, you'll get a free high five LOL
(4)patrick p.
I walk by this place often. Usually, after work with my dog and they are closed. One afternoon around 4:30pm I saw that they were still open. I ordered the standard American cheese burger with fries. The hamburger was the best I have had since Fat Burger in Los Angeles decades ago. No joke. The fries were real potatos sliced like mom would make them. Perfect! They put extra paper bags on top of the food to keep everything warm as I ordered take out. Nice touch. All for less than $10.00! My only complaint is that the hours are limited. Why close at 5pm? When you have the best burger/frie combo in the City, why not share it with everyone?
